Aminazine

Aminazine - antipsychotic means with sedative action.

Form of release and structure

Aminazine is produced in the form of a dragee of brown-pink color and solution for intramuscular and intravenous administration.

Dragees of drug are issued in blister strip packagings on 10 pieces. One cardboard pack contains 3, 5 or 10 packagings.

Solution of Aminazine is produced in ampoules on 1 and 2 ml. One cardboard pack or a box contains 10 pieces.

Active ingredient as a part of drug is Chlorpromazinum. 1 dragee contains 25, 50 or 100 mg of active component, 1 ml of solution – 25 mg.

Act as excipients as a part of a dragee:

• Starch syrup;
• Sucrose;
• Gelatin;
• Talc;
• Wax;
• Sunflower oil;
• Titanium dioxide;
• Dye ferrous oxide red.

Indications to use

According to the instruction, Aminazine is used for treatment of the following diseases:

• Schizophrenia;
• Chronic hallucinatory paranoid and paranoid states;
• Maniacal excitement at patients with maniac-depressive psychosis;
• Psychotic frustration at patients with epilepsy;
• The agitated depression at patients with maniac-depressive psychosis;
• The neurosises and mental diseases which are followed by sleeplessness, fear, excitement, tension;
• The diseases of neurologic character which are followed by increase in a muscle tone;
• Removal of the epileptic status (if other methods of treatment are inefficient);
• Vomiting of pregnant women;
• Menyer's disease;
• Pruritic dermatosis.

Aminazine is used also in oncology at radiation therapy and treatment by chemotherapeutic drugs.

Contraindications

The list of diseases at which use of Aminazine is inadmissible:

• Disturbances of functions of kidneys and liver;
• Disturbances in functioning of the hemopoietic bodies;
• Myxedema;
• The progressing diseases of a head and spinal cord of system character;
• Clotting disease;
• Dekompensirovanny heart diseases.

Aminazine is not appointed at unconsciousness of the patient, acute injuries of a brain and pregnancy.

Relative contraindications to use of Aminazine are the rheumatic carditis, rheumatism, an acute pyelitis, urolithic and cholelithic diseases.

Administration of drug is contraindicated orally at a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum. In that case it is necessary to use an intramuscular way of introduction.

Route of administration and dosage

This drug can orally be used, and also is entered intramusculary or intravenously.

Use of Aminazine is inside appointed according to the following scheme: the adult 3-4 times a day on 10-100 mg, at the same time the daily dose should not exceed 600 mg.

To children 5 years are more senior use 1/3-1/2 from the adult's dose is admissible.

For children of 1-5 years the single dose is calculated by multiplication of 500 mkg of drug by the child's weight, it is necessary to accept it each 4-6 hours.

More exact mode of dosing is defined by the attending physician depending on indications.

Side effects

Use of Aminazine can be the cause of a number of negative effects:

• Sight illegibility;
• Akathisia (feeling of internal motive concern);
• Parkinsonichesky syndrome;
• Thermal control disturbances;
• Tachycardia, and at intravenous administration – arterial hypotension;
• Agranulocytosis;
• Leukopenia;
• Difficulty of an urination;
• Increase in body weight;
• Impotence;
• Disturbance of a menstrual cycle;
• Gynecomastia;
• Itch and skin rash;
• Antipsychotic depression;
• Spasms (in isolated cases).

At use of Aminazine disturbances of digestion in the form of heartburn, nausea and diarrhea are inside possible.

Special instructions

Aminazine belongs to medicines which have the braking effect on the central nervous system, at use of the recommended doses do not cause somnolent effect.

Increase in a dose of drug causes not only increase of the general calm, but also oppression of motive defensive reflexes, reduction of a physical activity and somewhat relaxation of skeletal muscles.

In spite of the fact that after reception of Aminazine in the raised doses reactivity in relation to external and internal stimuluses decreases, consciousness at the same time remains.

Drug can be combined with analgetics at a persistent pain syndrome, and also with tranquilizers and hypnagogues - at sleeplessness. Aminazine strengthens effect of use of hypnotic drugs, anesthetics and mestnoanesteziruyushchy means.

Analogs

Aminazine analog in the form of a dragee is the drug Chlorpromazinum, and in the form of solution – Aminazin-Fereyn and Chlorpromazinum a hydrochloride.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place protected from sunshine, at a temperature of 15-25 °C. To protect from children.

The period of validity of drug makes 2 years.
