Amlotop – the drug having anti-anginal and anti-hypertensive effect.

Form of release and structure

Medicine is produced in tablets a dosage of 5 and 10 mg. Active active ingredient – амлодипин.

Indications to use

According to the instruction, Amlotop appoint at arterial hypertension, vasospastic stenocardia and a stable angina of exertion. Drug can be used in combination with other medicines of similar action or as monotherapy.

Amlotop's use allows to reduce the frequency of attacks of stenocardia and amount of the accepted nitroglycerine. Also dozozavisimy long hypotensive effect of drug caused by relaxation of unstriated muscles of vessels is noted. With the increased arterial pressure action of a single dose of medicine remains for days.

Contraindications

Amlotop's use has the following contraindications:

• Cardiogenic shock;
• Collapse;
• The expressed arterial hypotension;
• Aorta stenosis (clinically significant);
• Deficit of lactase;
• Glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption;
• Lactose intolerance;
• Pregnancy in any trimester;
• Breastfeeding;
• Age up to 18 years;
• Hypersensitivity to components of medicine and other derivatives of dihydropyridine.

With caution Amlotop people of advanced age should take, and also at: the chronic heart failure expressed to bradycardia, tachycardia, disturbances of functions of a liver, a mitral and aortal stenosis, a hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, an acute myocardial infarction.

Route of administration and dosage

Amlotop accept regardless of meal, 1 times a day, washing down with water.

At treatment of stenocardia and arterial hypertension the initial daily dose of 5 mg is appointed. The dose is adjusted depending on individual reaction of the patient and can be increased to 10 mg. Increase in a dose is allowed in 7-14 days from the moment of the beginning of administration of drug.

To patients with small body weight, low growth, to elderly people and patients with abnormal liver functions Amlotop, as anti-hypertensive means, is appointed in the reduced initial dose – 2,5 mg of active ingredient.

At Amlotop's combination to other medicines, the initial dose in 2,5 mg of active ingredient is appointed.

Side effects

Amlotop's use can cause the following side effects:

• From cardiovascular system: hypostases of feet and anklebones, excessive lowering of arterial pressure, heartbeat increase, vasculitis, heart failure, bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, heart attack;
• From system of a hemopoiesis: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia;
• From the central and peripheral nervous system: migraine, pain behind a breast, dizziness, drowsiness, an indisposition, an adynamy, a syncope, fatigue, paresthesias, a tremor, lability, a peripheral neuropathy, uneasiness, a depression;
• From the alimentary system: nausea, disturbances of a chair, abdominal pains, diarrhea, anorexia, dryness mucous, thirst, gastritis, jaundice, pancreatitis;
• From respiratory system: rhinitis, short wind;
• From sense bodys: diplopia, eye pain, conjunctivitis.
• Allergic reactions: itch, Quincke's disease, small tortoiseshell, dermatitis;
• From a musculoskeletal system: mialgiya, muscular spasms;

Special instructions

According to the instruction, drug withdrawal should be carried out gradually.

During therapy the patient should control the weight, and also to undergo regular inspections at the stomatologist for the prevention of a hyperplasia of gums, their morbidity and bleeding.
