Uraemia

Description:

Uraemia — the acute or chronic self-poisoning of an organism caused by a renal failure; accumulation in blood mainly toxic products of a nitrogen metabolism (azotemia), disturbances of acid-base and osmotic balance.

Uraemia symptoms:

Hypertensive encephalopathy, headaches, dizzinesses, dyssomnia (sleep disorder), adynamy, apathy, consciousness disturbance, aphasia, vision disorder, uremic coma, spasms, distal weakness

Uraemia reasons:

End-stage of a chronic renal failure. Defect of structural components of balls with disturbance of urinary function takes place.

Treatment of Uraemia:

The hemodialysis and renal transplantation are applied.

Establishment of the diagnosis of HPN requires the solution of a question of replacement therapy. It is dictated by two circumstances.

  1. The sudden, catastrophic deterioration in a functional condition of kidneys occurring after the period of relative stabilization of functions is characteristic of most of patients with disturbance of a differentiation of renal fabric. Sometimes the developed picture of uraemia arises in connection with the postponed intercurrent disease, but in most cases the reason leading to sharp decrease in filtrational ability of kidneys does not manage to be established.
  2. At establishment of the diagnosis of a renal dysplasia and formation of initial phase HPN renal transplantation, and timely appointed hemodialysis is very effective (minimizing homeostatic disturbances until operational treatment) creates favorable conditions for expectation and performing transplantation.
