Description:


Under such name in oncology the lung top tumor is known. The name of the American doctor Henry Pankost was received not only by a tumor, but also one of complexes of the symptoms (syndrome) developing at it.

Pankost's tumor and syndromes accompanying it are allocated in a separate nosological form because of specifics of the processes proceeding at this disease. These features are connected with the fact that Pankost's tumor is localized on a top of a lung or in an upper share. Such arrangement influences functions of several zhiznennovazhny bodies at once.


Symptoms Pankost's Tumour:


Pankost's tumor has two typical syndromes — of the same name, Pankosta and Horner's syndrome. In certain cases at patients both simptomatokompleks at the same time are noted, also courses of this pathology meet only one syndrome. Does not do also without typical "cancer" signs: weaknesses, emaciation, pallor and earthiness of integuments.

Reasons Pankost's Tumour:


The reasons of development of a tumor of Pankost, as well as in cases with other cancer diseases, still are not clear. Sometimes this tumor develops in the form of the isolated process, and at times proceeds as the secondary center of small-celled lung cancer. As well as in case of other tumoral diseases of a lung and a respiratory organs, in a pathogeny of a tumor of Pankost risk factors have huge value. Carry to them: smoking — in 80 — 85% of cases smoking is decisive in the development plan for tumors of lungs.

Frequent infectious and allergic diseases, passive smoking, work on the harmful productions including connected with impact of ionizing radiation, employment in agriculture where for the purpose of protection of plants or increase in productivity spray various chemical and biological additives — all this both together, and separately provokes pathologies of pulmonary fabric.


Treatment Pankost's Tumour:


Treatment is difficult, and, as a rule, includes surgical intervention — removal of a lung or its most part, and also circulatory and absorbent vessels, nerves, edges and, quite often, shoots of vertebrae. Along with operation carry out massive chemotherapy, radiation therapy.
