Prednizolonovy ointment

General characteristics. Structure:

Prednisolonum of 0,5%, excipients.

Pharmacological properties:

Antiinflammatory, antiallergenic and antipruritic action.

Indications to use:

Skin diseases of not microbic etiology: allergic and contact dermatitis, eczema, neurodermatitis, itch.

Route of administration and doses:

Ointment is applied a thin layer on affected areas of skin of 1 - 3 time a day. Duration of a course of treatment depends on the nature of a disease and efficiency of therapy, making, as a rule, 6-14 days. If necessary treatment can be continued. On the limited centers for strengthening of effect occlusive bandages can be used. At use of ointment for children of 1 year is also more senior it is necessary to limit the general duration of treatment and to exclude the actions leading to strengthening of a resorption and absorption of a steroid (warming, fixing and occlusive bandages).

Side effects:

At use of prednizolonovy ointment, especially patients with individual intolerance, can have a hyperemia, puffiness and an itch within the defeat center. At prolonged treatment also development of secondary infectious damages of skin, atrophic changes in it, a hypertrichosis is possible. At prolonged use of ointment, especially on big sites of defeat development of a hypercorticoidism as manifestation of resorptive effect of Prednisolonum is possible. In these cases use of drug it is necessary to stop and see a doctor.

Contraindications:

Infectious diseases of skin: tuberculosis, pyoderma, mycosis; cankers of skin and wound; pregnancy.
