HEXESTROL

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 1 ml of solution contains Hexoestrolum 1 mg or 20 mg; 

excipients: olive oil.

Main physical and chemical properties: transparent oily liquid from light yellow or golden-yellow color.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Hexestrolum – synthetic oestrogenic drug of a nonsteroid structure. Shows specific medical action: activates processes of proliferation of an endometria, stimulates development of a uterus and secondary female sexual characters at their underdevelopment, softens and eliminates the general frustration arising in the woman's organism in connection with insufficiency of function of gonads during a climacteric or after gynecologic operations, prevents development of osteoporosis.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption – high, the effect of primary passing through a liver is characteristic. It is removed by kidneys.

Indications to use:

The hypogenitalism connected with insufficient function of ovaries, primary and secondary amenorrhea, an oligomenorrhea, a dysmenorrhea, a hypoplasia of generative organs, climacteric frustration.

In complex therapy (surgical treatment, radiation therapy) of a breast cancer at women 60 years and a prostate cancer at men are more senior.

Route of administration and doses:

At a hypogenitalism, an inborn amenorrhea and sharply underdeveloped uterus – intramusculary on 1-2 mg daily within 4-6 weeks and more.

At a secondary amenorrhea – on 1-2 mg a day within 15-20 days.

At gipooligomenory – on 1 mg intramusculary daily or every other day during the first half of the intermenstrual period.

At the infertility connected with a uterus underdevelopment – on 1 mg intramusculary the first 7-8 days after periods.

At a breast cancer at women 60 years on 1 ml of 2% of solution daily are aged more senior, increasing a daily dose to 5 ml. By careful observation establish an optimum dose which is entered for an appreciable length of time.

At a prostate cancer daily on 3-4 ml of 2% of solution intramusculary within 2 months, then on 0,5-1 ml of 2% of solution. The general dose and duration of treatment depend on changes in a prostate, existence or lack of metastasises, the general state and extent of feminization.

The highest intramuscular dose for adults: one-time 0,002 g (2 ml of 1% of solution), daily 0,003 g.

At treatment of malignant new growths the highest intramuscular dose of 0,09 g (3 ml of 2% of solution), daily 0,1 g (5 ml of 2% of solution).

Features of use:

With care apply at patients with thrombophlebitises, thromboses or thromboembolisms; pancreatitis, endometriosis, diseases of a gall bladder in the anamnesis (especially a cholelithiasis), a heavy liver failure, jaundice, the hypercalcemia associated with bone metastasises of a breast cancer.

Side effects:

Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, increase in risk of a thromboembolism are in some cases possible. At use of high doses perhaps toxic injury of a liver, excessive proliferation of an endometria and bleeding at women, the expressed feminization at men (decrease in sexual function, swelling of mammary glands, pigmentation of nipples, reduction of the sizes of testicles).

Interaction with other medicines:

Appoint in combination with progesterone, Pregninum.

Contraindications:

Pregnancy, lactation, disease of a liver and kidneys, mastopathy, endometriosis, uterine bleedings, malignant and high-quality new growths at women up to 60 years, the diseases connected with the increased level of coagulation of system of blood, different forms of a giperestrogeniya, a diabetes mellitus.
