Calcium gluconate

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent - calcium a gluconate of 500,0 mg.

Excipients: starch of 19,4 mg, talc of 5,3 mg, calcium stearate 5,3mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacokinetics. It was not studied.

Pharmacodynamics. Filling shortage of calcium, antiinflammatory, antiallergic, a hemostatic. Calcium - the macrocell participating in formation of a bone tissue, blood coagulation process is necessary for maintenance of stable cordial activity, processes of transfer of nervous impulses. Improves reduction of muscles at muscular dystrophy, a myasthenia, reduces permeability of vessels.

Indications to use:

As a part of complex therapy:

- epithelial body hypofunctions;

- hypocalcemias;

- hepatitis;

- toxic damage of a liver, nephrite, eclampsia;

- skin diseases;

- pulmonary, gastrointestinal, nasal, uterine bleedings;

- allergic diseases, including medicinal allergy;

- poisonings with magnesium salts, oxalic acid and its soluble salts (as an antidote).

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, before food.

To adults and children 10 years on 1-3 g (2-6 tablets) 2-3 times a day are more senior.

To children till 1 year on 0,5 g (on 1 tablet), from 1 to 4 years on 1 g (on 2 tablets), from 5 to 6 years on 1,0-1,5 g (on 2-3 tablets), from 7 to 9 years on 1,5-2 g (on 3-4 tablets) 2-3 times a day. Course of treatment of 7-10 days.

Features of use:

Patients with tendency to formation of stones in urine are recommended to increase the volume of the consumed liquid.

During pregnancy for prevention of bleedings appoint calcium a gluconate on 28, repeatedly on 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. Each course of treatment makes 7 – 10 days.

Does not influence ability to manage the vehicle or potentially dangerous mechanisms.

Side effects:

- nausea;

- vomiting;

- diarrhea;

- bradycardia.

Interaction with other medicines:

Under the influence of Colestyraminum absorption of calcium from digestive tract decreases. At simultaneous use with quinidine delay of intra ventricular conductivity and increase in toxicity of quinidine is possible. At simultaneous use of calcium of a gluconate and tetracyclines action of the last can decrease in connection with reduction of their absorption. In need of simultaneous use with other medicines control of the doctor is necessary.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to any component of drug;

- hypercalcemia;

- hypercalcuria;

- heavy renal failure;

- tendency to fibrinferments;

- atherosclerosis;

- lactation period.

Overdose:

Symptoms: strengthening of side effects.

Treatment: to wash out a stomach of 2% Natrii hydrocarbonas solution.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry, protected from light place, at a temperature from 2 °C to 30 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children!
