Pancreatinum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 0,15 g or 0,3 g of Pancreatinum in 1 capsule.

The drug filling shortage of enzymes of a pancreas.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Contains excretory pancreatic enzymes: a lipase, alpha amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, promotes the proteolysis (to amino acids), fats (to glycerin and fatty acids) and starch (to dextrins and monosugars), normalizes digestion processes.

The enzymes which are a part of Pancreatinum are released in the alkaline environment of a small intestine since are protected from action of a gastric juice by a cover. Trypsin in the upper site of a small intestine inhibits stimulated secretion of a pancreas, causing analgesic effect of Pancreatinum.

Indications to use:

Insufficiency of digestion at disturbance of exocrine function of a pancreas: mucoviscidosis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatectomy, dyspepsias, Remkheld's syndrome, meteorism; disturbance of digestion of food (a state after a resection of a stomach and a small intestine, the accelerated passing of food through intestines, errors in a diet at reception of greasy, unusual food hard to digest, at nervousness, etc.), intestinal infections, chronic diseases in system of a liver and bilious ways, decontamination of intestines before diagnostic testings (radiological, ultrasonography, etc.).

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, before food, without chewing, with a large amount of liquid, it is desirable alkaline: water, fruit juice. The dose is established individually depending on severity of a digestive disturbance. In a usual dose — on 0,25–0,5 g of 3-6 times a day just before food or during food. Treatment duration — of several days (at disturbance of process of digestion owing to errors in a diet) up to several months and even years (in need of replacement therapy).

Features of use:

It is not recommended to exceed a daily dose, especially sick mucoviscidosis. At prolonged use it is necessary to appoint iron preparations.

Side effects:

Symptoms of intestinal impassability (formation of strictures in ileocecal department and the ascending colon) and allergic reactions of immediate type (at a mucoviscidosis, especially at children).

Interaction with other medicines:

Reduces iron absorption (especially at prolonged use).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity (including intolerance of pork), acute pancreatitis, exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.

Storage conditions:

To store at a temperature of 15-25 °C, in dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children. Period of validity 3 years. Not to use after the expiry date specified on packaging.

Packaging:

Capsules of 0,15 g and 0,3 g. On 10 capsules in each blister, on one, two or three blisters together with the application instruction in cardboard packaging.
