Indications to use: Neurasthenia. Alarm. Syndrome of chronic fatigue. Sleeplessness (insomniya). Sleep disorders. Tension headache. Migraine. Dyspepsia. Syndrome of the angry intestines. Menopausal syndrome.


General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: 30 ml of tincture of a motherwort, 30 ml of Tinctura Valerianae, 20 ml of a diagiperon (St. John's Wort tincture), 20 ml of a Jacob's ladder of a rhizome with roots extract liquid.

Excipients: not less than 64% of ethanol.

The combined vegetable means having generally sedative effect on TsNS.




Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Pharmacological properties of Sedanol medicine are caused by existence in its structure of a complex of biologically active agents which are contained in medicinal plants.

Tinctura Valerianae has sedative, tranquilizing effect on TsNS, regulates cordial activity, has spasmolytic and cholagogue properties, strengthens secretion of the ferruterous device of digestive tract.

Tincture of a motherwort has the expressed sedative properties, and also has hypotensive and cardiotonic effect.

Diagiperon contains the various biologically active compounds of a grass of a St. John's Wort rendering easy antidepressive, anxiolytic and spasmolytic action.

The sum of triterpenovy saponins of extract of a Jacob's ladder has sedative effect, reducing a physical activity and reflex irritability, stimulates function of bark of adrenal glands, regulates lipidic exchange, accelerates coagulability of blood, slows down development of atherosclerosis.


Indications to use:

- the easy forms of a neurasthenia and neurotic reactions which are followed by irritability, alarm, fear, fatigue, absent-mindedness, memory disturbance, mental exhaustion;

- "manager's syndrome" (condition of constant mental tension);

- easy forms of sleeplessness;

- the headaches caused by a nerve strain;

- migraines;

- functional gastrointestinal diseases (dispeptic syndrome, syndrome of the angry intestines);

- somatoformny vegetative dysfunction and a menopausal syndrome (as symptomatic means);

- pruritic dermatosis (atopic and seborrheal eczema, small tortoiseshell).


Route of administration and doses:

To adults and children 12 years are more senior appoint inside 2-3 times a day on 1 teaspoon after food.

Course of treatment – not less than 4 weeks.

Use of Sedanol medicine for children aged up to 12 years is possible only on doctor's orders. The dose is established individually taking into account age and portability. The recommended initial dose makes ½ teaspoons of solution a day before going to bed.

It is desirable to dilute medicine before use with a small amount of water


Features of use:

It is necessary to be careful at prescription of medicine to patients with a serious organic illness of a digestive tract. It is not recommended to use during pregnancy and in the period of a lactation. The risk/advantage can be appointed the doctor after preliminary estimate of a ratio.

The patient has to be informed that if symptoms of a disease remain more than 4 weeks, consultation of the doctor is necessary.

During treatment to avoid UF-radiations.

At use in the recommended doses medicine does not cause drowsiness and does not reduce ability to concoction of attention.


Side effects:

- from TsNS – a headache;

- from the alimentary system – a meteorism;

- dermatological reactions – skin rash, pigmentation;

- bodies of a hemopoiesis – an iron deficiency anemia;

- from reproductive system – mutagen action.

The specified symptoms quickly pass after medicine cancellation.


Interaction with other medicines:

Sedanol medicine strengthens effect of the substances exerting the oppressing impact on TsNS and also alcohol.

The St. John's Wort which is a part of medicine induces activity of metabolic CYP3A4, CYP2C9, CYP2C19 enzymes and the R-glycoprotein that can accelerate metabolism of other medicines. As a result of acceleration of metabolism concentration of medicines decreases and respectively their therapeutic effectiveness can decrease.

The St. John's Wort increases antidepressive effect of MAO inhibitors, increases risk of development of hypertensive crises. When sharing with fluoxetine, paroksetiny, sertraline, fluvoksaminy or tsitalopramy makes heavier hemolitic reactions and a current of "a serotoninovy syndrome" (dizziness, nausea, vomiting, a headache, pain in epigastriums, concern, alarm, a condition of confusion, confusion, feeling of concern and irritability).

The St. John's Wort is capable to strengthen the photosensitizing effect of other medicines: tetracyclines, streptocides, thiazide diuretics, hinolon, piroxicam, etc.

Extends the dream caused by medicines for the general anesthesia and narcotic analgetics, but shortens the dream caused by barbiturates.

Reduces hypotensive effect of Reserpinum. Reduces concentration of cyclosparinum in blood. The St. John's Wort reduces concentration in blood and efficiency of therapy indinaviry.

At simultaneous use with ethinylestradiol and dezogestrely the risk of bleedings increases. Increases theophylline metabolism speed. Reduces concentration in digoxin blood.


Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to medicine components; myasthenia; epilepsy.


Overdose:

Strengthening of by-effects is possible.

Treatment: medicine cancellation; if necessary carry out symptomatic therapy.


Storage conditions:

In the place protected from light at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity – 2 years. Not to use after the period of validity specified on packaging.
