Dibazolum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent - Bendazolum of 10 mg.

Excipients: the alcohol of ethyl 96% 0,1 ml, glycerin distilled (in terms of 100%) 108 mg, acid of chlorohydrogen 0,1M 10 mg, water for injections to 1 ml.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacokinetics. At intramuscular introduction anti-hypertensive action comes within 30-60 minutes, and at intravenous administration within 15-20 minutes. Duration of action is 2-3 hours. Bendazolum biotransformation products in blood are two conjugates which are formed owing to methylation and a karboetoksilirovaniye of iminogroup of an imidazolny ring of Bendazolum: 1-methyl-2-benzylbenzimidazole and 1-karboetoksi-2-benzylbenzimidazole. Drug preferential with urine is excreted.

Pharmacodynamics. Antispasmodic of myotropic action derivative of benzimidazole. Has spasmolytic effect on all smooth muscle bodies, expands vessels. Lowers arterial pressure due to reduction of cordial emission and expansion of peripheral vessels. Hypotensive activity of Dibazolum is very moderate, and the effect is short. Dibazolum exerts the stimulating impact on functions of a spinal cord (facilitates reflex reactions) in the presence of the residual phenomena after the postponed poliomyelitis and promotes recovery of functions of peripheral nerves. Has the moderate immunostimulating activity: strengthens formation of interferon.

Indications to use:

- spasms of blood vessels (hypertensive crises, exacerbation of a hypertension);

- spasms of smooth muscles of internals (including gatekeeper, stomach, intestines);

- residual phenomena of poliomyelitis, flaccid paralysis of a facial nerve;

- polyneuritis.

Route of administration and doses:

Enter intravenously, intramusculary or subcutaneously.

For stopping of hypertensive crises enter 30-40 mg (3-4 ml of 1% of solution). At substantial increase of arterial pressure intramuscular introduction on 20 - 30 mg (2-3 ml) 2-3 times a day is shown.

Course of treatment of 8-14 days.

At spasms of smooth muscles of internals on 10 - 20 mg (1-2 ml) intramusculary or subcutaneously as symptomatic therapy.

At treatment of diseases of a nervous system (the residual phenomena of poliomyelitis, a flaccid paralysis of a facial nerve, a polyneuritis) use drug only in the form of tablets.

Features of use:

Prolonged use of Dibazolum as antihypertensive at patients of advanced age since the hypotensive effect is connected with reduction of cordial emission is inexpedient and deterioration in indicators of the electrocardiogram is possible.

Use in pediatrics - only in the form of tablets.

As data on safety of drug for a fruit are absent, it cannot be applied during pregnancy for a long time. During feeding by a breast it is necessary to apply only in that case when the advantage for mother, exceeds potential risk for the child.

Has no negative effects on ability of driving of cars or use of the equipment.

Side effects:

- allergic reactions are possible;

- local morbidity in an injection site.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use with anti-hypertensive means, diuretics strengthening of anti-hypertensive action is possible.

The concomitant use of Dibazolum prevents the increase in the general peripheric resistance of vessels caused by beta adrenoblockers.

At simultaneous use phentolamine strengthens hypotensive action of Dibazolum.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to Bendazolum;

- diseases which are followed by the raised muscle tone or a convulsive syndrome.

Overdose:

Symptoms: perspiration, feeling of heat, dizziness, nausea, a slight headache which quickly pass at a dose decline or drug withdrawal.

Treatment: at hypotension recommend transfusion therapy, vasoconstrictors, cardiac glycosides.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not above 30 °C.
