Hydrocortisone

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 10 mg of Hydrocortisoni acetas in 1 g of ointment.

Excipients: (vaseline, lanolin anhydrous, pental, stearic acid, нипагин, нипазол, the water purified).

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. KS. At external use has anti-exudative and antipruritic effect. Reduces inflammatory cellular infiltrates, reduces migration of leukocytes and lymphocytes in the field of an inflammation.

Pharmacokinetics. After putting drug on skin the hydrocortisone collects in epidermis, generally in a granular layer. An insignificant part of a hydrocortisone is metabolized in epidermis, the most part is absorbed through integuments in a system blood stream and metabolized, mainly, in a liver.

Metabolites and insignificant part of not changed hydrocortisone are allocated with mochy or through bile with a stake.

Indications to use:

- allergic dermatitis;
- seborrhea;
- various forms of eczema;
- neurodermatitis;
- psoriasis;
- red flat warty deprive.

Route of administration and doses:

Ointment is applied a thin layer on affected areas of skin by 2 times a day and slightly rub. Frequency of use of drug can be changed taking into account disease severity. Ointment promotes detention of moisture and it is preferable to apply it at dry eczematic and psoriasis damages of skin. At the expressed infiltration it is reasonable to apply drug and to apply an occlusive bandage.

Features of use:

Use of Hydrocortisone ointment in the recommended doses does not cause suppression гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system. Use of drug in high doses for a long time, especially when using occlusive bandages, can lead to suppression гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system; after drug withdrawal products of cortisol are quickly normalized.

At children suppression of function of bark of adrenal glands develops quicker, and also products of growth hormones can decrease.

Side effects:

Are possible: allergic reactions.

At prolonged use and/or when drawing on big surfaces system side effects are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Clinically significant medicinal interaction is not described.

Contraindications:

- bacterial, viral, fungus skin diseases;
- tuberculosis cutis;
- syphilitic skin manifestations;
- skin tumors;
- hypersensitivity to glucocorticosteroids.

Storage conditions:

Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging. At a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 3 years.
