Hydrocortisone ointment

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Hydrocortisoni acetas-1,0 of, excipients (vaseline, lanolin anhydrous, pental, нипагин, нипазол, the stearic acid, water purified) - to 100 g.

Pharmacological properties:

The hydrocortisone has antiinflammatory and antiallergic effect. Slows down release of cytokines (interleykin and interferon) from lymphocytes and macrophages, release by eosinophils of mediators of an inflammation oppresses, reduces metabolism of arachidonic acid and synthesis of Pg. Stimulating steroid receptors, induces formation of a special class of proteins - the lipokortin having antiedematous activity. Reduces inflammatory cellular infiltrates, reduces migration of leukocytes and lymphocytes to the area of an inflammation. At appointment in the recommended doses does not cause suppression гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system.

Indications to use:

Apply at inflammatory and allergic diseases of skin of not microbic etiology: eczema, allergic and contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis.

Route of administration and doses:

Locally. The struck surface of skin is greased with a thin layer of ointment not more often by 3-4 times a day. A course of treatment - 1-3 weeks. The drug dose used within a week should not exceed 30-60 g. At an itch in the field of an anus before putting drug it is necessary to wash the struck area warm water with soap, then water and to dry up the surface of skin a towel or a napkin. For the becoming wet diseases of skin, defeats of a pilar part of the head, lotion and an emulsion for external use are used.

Features of use:

It is necessary to avoid hit of ointment in eyes. To children up to 12 years drug is appointed only under strict medical control. If after 7 days of use there does not occur improvement or the aggravation of symptoms, and also in case of resuming of symptoms in several days after cancellation is observed, use of drug it is necessary to stop and consult with the doctor.

It is not necessary to use drug without consultation with the doctor in cases when the itch in genitals at women is followed by allocations from a vagina. At prolonged treatment and/or drawing it is recommended to appoint a diet with restriction of sodium and the increased maintenance of K+ to big surfaces; to enter enough protein into an organism.

Side effects:

Irritation of skin; at prolonged use (especially at occlusive bandages and/or drawing on big surfaces) - system side effects.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components. Use is contraindicated at wound, cankers, bacterial, viral and fungus diseases of skin. Drug do not appoint pregnant.
