General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: in 1 таб nitrofurat 20 mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Antimicrobic means derivative of nitrofuran. It is active concerning gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis; gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp. (including Salmonella paratyphi).

Indications to use:

Purulent wounds, decubituses, ulcers, burns of II and III degrees, osteomyelitis, pleura empyema, mephitic gangrene of a wound surface, furuncle of outside acoustical pass, empyema of adnexal bosoms of a nose.

Route of administration and doses:

At purulent wounds, decubituses, ulcers, burns, for preparation of the granulating surface for skin transplantations and for a resuture irrigate a wound with aqueous solution of a nitrofural and apply water dressings. At osteomyelitis after operation wash out a cavity aqueous solution of a nitrofural and apply water dressing. At an empyema of a pleura suck away pus and wash out a pleural cavity with the subsequent introduction to a cavity of 20-100 ml of aqueous solution of a nitrofural.

Features of use:

For preparation of aqueous solution 1 part of a nitrofural is dissolved in 5000 parts of isotonic solution of sodium of chloride or the distilled water. Ready solution can be stored for a long time.

Side effects:

Perhaps: local allergic reactions, dermatitis.

Contraindications:

Allergic dermatosis, hypersensitivity to a nitrofural and other derivatives of nitrofuran.
