Description:


The acute iritis is an acute inflammation of an iris of the eye of an eyeglobe.


Symptoms of the Acute iritis:


The state is characterized by pain with the acute beginning, a photophobia, misting of sight because of emergence of precipitated calcium superphosphates in watery moisture of an anterior chamber, dacryagogue, a pericorneal injection, narrowing of pupils owing to a pupil sphincter spasm. Afterwards narrow, irregular shape the pupil can be result of development of back synechias on its edge. At biomicroscopy precipitated calcium superphosphates on a back surface of a cornea come to light and detection of hypopyon in an anterior chamber is possible. The disease develops at persons of young and middle age more often.


Reasons of the Acute iritis:


The reasons of development of an acute iritis to be wounds of eyes, operations on an eyeglobe, tuberculosis, a gonococcal infection, a toxoplasmosis, rheumatism, flu, syphilis, a hay fever, a brucellosis, metabolism diseases, focal infections, purulent processes in a cornea.


Treatment of the Acute iritis:


Main objective of treatment is prevention of damage of tissues of eye long inflammatory process which consequence disturbances of current of watery moisture with development of glaucoma, emergence of synechias between an iris and a surface of a crystalline lens can be. Therapy includes use of steroid hormones for the purpose of stopping of inflammatory reactions. For prevention of development of back synechias in edge of a pupil purpose of the drugs expanding pupils until inflammatory changes abate is shown.
