Caffeine-sodium benzoate

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: a bottom the tablet contains caffeine-sodium benzoate 0,1g or 0,2g.

Pharmacological properties:

Has a promoting effect on the central nervous system, mainly, on a cerebral cortex, the respiratory and vasomotor centers. Increases intellectual and physical effeciency, reduces drowsiness, feeling of fatigue. Weakens action of means, the oppressing TsNS. Exerts the expressed impact on cardiovascular system: increases force and frequency of reductions of heart, increases arterial pressure at hypotension. Has moderate diuretic effect. Increases secretion of glands of a stomach.

Indications to use:

The diseases which are followed by oppression of the central nervous system, functions of cardiovascular and respiratory systems (poisoning with drugs, infectious diseases, etc.), brain vasospasms, decrease in intellectual and physical effeciency, drowsiness. Apply also at enuresis at children.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside. On 0,1-0,2g 2-3 times a day. The highest single dose of 0,5 g, daily 1,5g.

Side effects:

Sleep disorder, tachycardia, increase in arterial pressure.

Contraindications:

Hypertension, atherosclerosis, organic diseases of cardiovascular system, glaucoma, hyperexcitability, sleep disorder, senile age.
