Trimetazidin

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 20 mg of a trimetazidin of a hydrochloride.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Trimetazidin - the drug of difficult metabolic action having the expressed properties of an antigipoksant and providing preservation of power products (ATP) in the cells which underwent a hypoxia, and first of all in an ischemic myocardium.

Maintains contractility of a myocardium, prevents intracellular exhaustion of ATP and phosphocreatinine. Interferes with the damaging action of free radicals, keeps integrity of cellular membranes, prevents activation of neutrophils in an ischemia zone, reduces expressiveness of ischemic injuries of a myocardium. At stenocardia reduces the frequency of attacks (promotes reduction of consumption of nitrates), in 2 weeks of treatment provides increase in tolerance to an exercise stress.

Improves hearing, reduces dizziness and a sonitus. At vascular pathology of eyes recovers functional activity of a retina of an eye. Drug is well transferred by elderly people and is especially shown at ischemic heart disease patients with the combined pathology (a diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive diseases of lungs with existence of a pulmonary hypertension).

Indications to use:

Ischemic heart disease, stenocardia (as a part of complex therapy), chorioretinal vascular disorders, dizziness of a vascular origin, dizziness at Menyer's disease, cochleovestibular disturbances of the ischemic nature (a sonitus, a hearing disorder).

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is accepted inside during food on 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. The daily dose makes 40-60 mg. Duration of a course of treatment is defined individually.

Features of use:

Drug does not influence ability to driving of the car and performance of work, the mental and physical reactions demanding high speed.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions: skin itch.

From bodies of a GIT: gastralgia, nausea, vomiting.

From a nervous system: headache.

From cardiovascular system: feeling of strong heartbeat.

Interaction with other medicines:

Results of interaction of a trimetazidin with other medicines are not established.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug, a renal failure (Cl of creatinine is lower than 15 ml/min.), the expressed abnormal liver functions, pregnancy, the lactation period, age up to 18 years (efficiency and safety are not established).
