Description:
Mental avtomatizm - alienation of mental functions, the navyazannost felt by the patient from the outside of own mental processes.
Symptoms of Mental avtomatizm:
Ideatorny (associative) automatism. It is shown by feeling of "insertion" of others thoughts, the openness phenomena (feeling that own thoughts become known to people around), feelings of sounding of own thoughts, plunders of thoughts. Also alienation of own emotions when the patient has a feeling that he experiences emotions not independently, and under the influence of foreign force is characteristic ("me laugh", "me mourn").
Senestopathetic automatism. Consists in emergence of senesthopathias, visceral hallucinations and pseudohallucinations in a special way, "under the influence of external influences" (for example, devices, space beams, magic influences).
Motor (kinaesthetic) automatism. It is characterized by existence at sick feeling that any movements, walking are carried out not at his own will, and besides under the influence of external influences. A special type of motor mental automatism are speech motor pseudohallucinations — feelings that the movements of language, pronouncing words happens without volition, under "external influence".
Despite a variety of manifestations of mental automatism, the general for all is perception of any feeling or action not as element own "I" and as something alien, cast by foreign force, that is alienation of own mental act. Quite often in the presence of the phenomena of mental automatism the crazy ideas of prosecution and influence appear.
Reasons of Mental avtomatizm:
Mental avtomatizm can be observed at various mental diseases: alcoholic, gipoksemichny, traumatic, vascular, infectious psychoses, schizophrenia. It is most characteristic of schizophrenia, especially of its paranoid form, and is unfavourable in respect of the forecast.
Treatment of Mental avtomatizm:
Treatment depends on the main pathology.
