Yellow disease

Yellow disease — a peculiar coloring of skin in yellow color with a greenish or orange shade.
Synonyms: carotenemia; xanthodermia; xanthochromia (xanthochromia carotinica Sezary; aurantiasis cutis Baelz).

Yellow disease reasons:

The yellow disease can arise at healthy faces at excess receipt with carotene food — provitamin A (pumpkin, oranges, carrots, etc.) which completely is not acquired and laid in skin and hypodermic cellulose (primary yellow disease). The yellow disease arising at moderate receipt in a carotene organism has bigger value.

Owing to insufficient transformation by a carotene liver the yellow disease and the phenomena of insufficiency of vitamin A in the form of a follicular hyperkeratosis, dryness, a peeling of skin, disturbance of tempo adaptation can develop in vitamin A at the same time. This secondary yellow disease happens at diseases of digestive organs, a thyroid gland, decrease in oxidation-reduction processes in an organism.
