Секразол® for children

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 15 mg of Ambroxol of a hydrochloride in 5 ml of syrup.

Excipients: 70% sorbitol, methylparahydroxybenzoate, пропилпарагидроксибензоат, sodium citrate, citric acid monohydrate, fragrance crimson, the water purified.

Expectorant antibechic drug.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Секразол® for children is Mucolyticum and expectorant substance which renders the liquefying effect on a secret of respiratory tract. Reduces viscosity of a mucous secret that promotes improvement of function of a tsiliarny epithelium, promotes removal of a secret and facilitates breath.

At use of Sekrazol® for children secretory activity of respiratory tract is normalized and the natural epithelial layer is recovered.

Pharmacokinetics. Ambroxol a hydrochloride is well soaked up from digestive tract; at intake to food, the maximum concentration in a blood plasma is observed in 2 hours. Bioavailability of Ambroxol about 60%. About 30% of Ambroxol are metabolized in a liver.

The period of elimination makes about 22 hours. Effective concentration in a blood plasma> 30 ng/ml is observed at reception of a dose of 30 mg twice a day. In this state constant minimum concentration makes 50 ng/ml, the doubled doses of Ambroxol do not influence cumulation in plasma. Ambroxol is removed with urine in the form inactivated, connected with glucuronides.

Indications to use:

- the acute and chronic respiratory diseases which are followed by allocation of a viscous phlegm (chronic bronchitis with a bronkho-obstructive syndrome);

- bronchial asthma, bronchoectatic disease;

- pneumonia.

Route of administration and doses:

To children up to 2 years. About ½ teaspoons twice a day are appointed (2,5 ml = 7,5 mg of a sekrazol)

Children are 2-5 years old. On ½ - 1 teaspoon 3 times a day (2,5 ml - 5 ml = 7,5–15 mg of a sekrazol).

To children of 5 - 12 years. On 1 - 2 teaspoon 2 times a day (5 ml - 10 ml = 15 – 30 mg of a sekrazol).

Course of treatment of 8 - 10 days. Syrup is accepted after food, washing down with enough warm liquid (water).

Features of use:

It is necessary to be careful at appointment to patients with a renal or liver failure.

Side effects:

Seldom:

- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;

- headache, fatigue, weakness;

- itch, skin rash;

- passing increase in hepatic transaminases in blood (NUCLEAR HEATING PLANT, ALT).

Interaction with other medicines:

Combined use of the drug Sekrazol® for children with:

- the atropine and other drugs having anticholinergic effects, such as амантадин, tricyclic antidepressants, a haloperidol, blockers histamine H1 of receptors, and procaineamide, excepting ипратропиум, suppressing activity of a ciliate epithelium and reducing mukotsiliarny clearance, can lead to accumulation of a secret;

- the raised doses of antibechic drugs, leads to suppression of a tussive reflex, therefore, removal of the bronchial secret which is formed in bigger quantity under the influence of Ambroxol is at a loss.

It is not recommended to apply Sekrazol® for children with codeine or other antibechic drugs containing codeine.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to Bromhexine or its metabolite to Ambroxol in the anamnesis;

- peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum;

- convulsive syndromes of various etiology.

Overdose:

Symptoms: strengthening of side effects.

Treatment: symptomatic therapy a gastric lavage by means of induction of vomiting with ipecacuanha syrup; at spasms, coma or in the absence of an emetic reflex lavage with use of the nazogastralny probe is shown. There is no specific antidote.

Storage conditions:

To store in the dry, protected from light place, at a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children! Period of storage 3 years. Not to apply after a period of validity.

On 100 ml of syrup in bottles from dark glass with the screwing-up cover and control of the first opening.

On 1 bottle together a measured spoon and the instruction on a medical use in the state and Russian languages place in a pack from a cardboard with the hologram of manufacturing firm.
