Unguentum Erytgromycyni

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: 100 g of ointment contain erythromycin — 1,0 g (with activity of 1000 mkg/mg in terms of dry matter) and a basis (lanolin anhydrous, sodium sulfite a feast, vaseline) — to 100 g.

Pharmacological properties:

The bacteriostatic antibiotic from group of macroleads, reversibly communicates with 50S in subunit of ribosomes that breaks formation of peptide bonds between molecules of amino acids and blocks protein synthesis of microorganisms (does not influence synthesis of nucleic acids). At use in high doses, depending on a type of the activator can show bactericidal action. The action spectrum includes gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp, Bacillus anthracis, Corinebacterium diphtheriae) and gram-negative (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Brucella spp., Legionella spp.) microorganisms, and also Mycoplasma spp., Chlamidia spp., Treponema spp., Rickettsia spp.

Indications to use:

Infections of skin, soft tissues, pustulous diseases, contaminated wounds, burns, decubituses, trophic ulcers, eels youthful.

Route of administration and doses:

To apply outwardly. Ointment is applied on the struck places by 2-3 times a day, at burns — 2-3 times a week.

Side effects:

Perhaps moderate irritant action in the form of an itch, erubescence. In this case use of ointment needs to be stopped.

Contraindications:

Individual hypersensitivity.
