General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: 5 mg of Bisacodyl.




Pharmacological properties:

Bisacodyl increases secretion of slime in a large intestine, accelerates and increases its peristaltics. Action is caused by direct stimulation of nerve terminations in a mucous membrane of a large intestine. At intake it is soaked up from intestines in the minimum quantity. Laxative action comes usually in 6 hours, at reception before going to bed in 8-12 hours.


Indications to use:

The lock caused by hypotonia and a sluggish peristaltics of a large intestine, in particular after operations, childbirth, a dietary regimen of food at advanced age. It is applied also by preoperative preparation and preparation of a large intestine for radiological and endoscopic inspection.


Route of administration and doses:

Accept inside in the evening before going to bed, since one tablet. In the absence of effect the single dose is increased to 2-3 tablets. To children 6 years are more senior appoint on 1 tablet in the evening.
By preparation for surgeries, tool and X-ray inspections appoint 2 tablets to night in days and on 2 tablets for the night on the eve of operation or a research.



Side effects:

Nausea, abdominal pains, swelling, heavy feeling, in rare instances slime and blood in time and after a chair. Prolonged use of bisacodyl in high doses can lead to excessive losses of water and electrolytes that, in the turn, can result in muscular weakness, disturbances of cordial activity, developing of spasms, arterial hypotension.


Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous prolonged use of bisacodyl in high doses with cardiac glycosides their action can amplify owing to a hypopotassemia.
The concomitant use of bisacodyl with diuretics and glucocorticoids can cause strengthening of a hypopotassemia.
PREVENTIONS: With care apply bisacodyl at pregnant women and the feeding women, and also at patients with diseases of a liver and kidneys.
Bisacodyl in tablets is not applied at children under 6 years.


Contraindications:

Intestinal impassability, acute inflammatory diseases of abdominal organs, abdominal pains of not clear genesis, bleeding from a GIT, uterine bleedings, cystitis, a spastic lock, acute hemorrhoids, an acute proctitis, disturbances of water and electrolytic balance.



Storage conditions:

In the dry and protected from light place at a temperature of 15-25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
Period of validity of 5 years. Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging.
