General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: Pyrantelum памоат - 250 mg

Excipients: excipients starch corn, gelatin, the Arabian gum, sodium methylparaben, sodium propylparaben, gum гуар, the talc purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Anthelmintic drug of a broad spectrum of activity. Causes nervnomyshechny blockade of sensitive helminths. Ascaris lumbricoides, Ancylostoma doudenale, Necator americanus, Trichostrongylus orientalis, Trichostrongylus colubriformis is active concerning Enterobius vermicularis. Affects both on puberal, and immature individuals of both sexes, does not affect larvae in a migration stage.

Pharmacokinetics. Absorption. After intake Pyrantelum is badly absorbed from a GIT. After reception of a single dose of 10 mg/kg of body weight concentration of Pyrantelum in plasma makes 0.005-0.13 mkg/ml during 1-3 h.

Distribution. There are no data on distribution of Pyrantelum in fabrics and biological liquids of an organism (theoretically absorption of active agent is minimum), and also about a possibility of release of active agent with breast milk.
Metabolism and removal
Pyrantelum, абсорбировавашийся in a system blood stream, is partially metabolized in a liver to N-methyl-1,3-propanediamina. 50% of the accepted dose are removed in not changed view with a stake, about 7% - with urine in not changed look or in the form of a metabolite.

- ascaridosis;

Route of administration and doses:

At an ascaridosis and an enterobiosis drug is appointed once in a dose at the rate of 10 mg/kg of body weight. Use of drug in the minimum dose of 5 mg/kg is in certain cases admissible. At an ankilostomidoza appoint in a dose at the rate of 10 mg/kg/days within 3 days.
At severe forms of a necatoriasis (massive invasions of Necator americanus) appoint in a dose at the rate of 20 mg/kg/days within 2 days.
Drug is accepted in time or after food, the tablet should be chewed carefully.

Features of use:

At an enterobiosis it is necessary to carry out simultaneous treatment of all jointly of the living persons.
After completion of treatment it is necessary to conduct a control research a calla on existence of eggs of parasites.

Side effects:

From a GIT and a liver: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach aches are possible; seldom - increase in activity of hepatic transaminases.
From TsNS: seldom - a headache, dizziness, drowsiness, sleeplessness, weakness; in some cases - a hearing disorder, hallucinations, confusion of consciousness, paresthesia.
Others: skin rash, fervescence.

Interaction with other medicines:

At combined use with piperazin Pyrantelum works antagonistic (this combination is not recommended). Increases concentration of theophylline in plasma.

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to Pyrantelum;
- myasthenia (treatment period)
With care appoint at a liver failure.

Pregnancy and lactation
Use of drug at pregnancy and a lactation (breastfeeding) is possible only if the estimated advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the child.

Overdose:

Now about cases of overdose it was not reported. If necessary carry out symptomatic therapy.
