Description of a dosage form

Dragee, coated (vitamins) of red color: round, biconvex, coated red color.

Dragee, coated (minerals) of blue color: round, biconvex, coated blue color.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. The combined drug containing a complex of 11 vitamins and 8 minerals which are important factors of metabolic processes.

Vitamins and minerals contain one red and one blue dragee in the quantities satisfying daily requirements of an organism. For the best assimilation of a vitamin and mineral complex and preservation of activity of the main components, vitamins and minerals are divided in a dragee of different color. Vitamins contain in a dragee of red color, minerals — in a dragee of blue color.

Vitamin A participates in synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and provides normal function of skin, mucous membranes, and also an organ of sight.

D3 vitamin plays an important role in maintenance of balance of calcium and phosphorus in an organism. At its lack of a bone tissue the content of calcium decreases (osteoporosis).

B1 vitamin normalizes action of the heart and promotes normal functioning of a nervous system.

B2 vitamin promotes processes of an angenesis, including skin cells.

B6 vitamin promotes maintenance of structure and function of bones, teeth, gums; exerts impact on an erythrogenesis, promotes normal functioning of a nervous system.

B12 vitamin participates in an erythrogenesis, promotes normal functioning of a nervous system.

Vitamins of group B participate in formation of various enzymes which regulate different types of a metabolism in an organism.

Folic acid stimulates an erythrogenesis.

Vitamin E is natural antioxidant. It prevents the increased coagulability of blood and favorably influences peripheric circulation. Participates in protein synthesis and hemoglobin, process of growth of cells, functioning of skeletal muscles, heart and vessels, gonads.

Vitamin C participates in oxidation of a number of biologically active agents, regulation of exchange in connecting fabric, carbohydrate metabolism, coagulability of blood and an angenesis, stimulates formation of steroid hormones, normalizes permeability of capillaries. Vitamin C increases resistance of an organism to infections, reduces inflammatory reactions.

Calcium participates in formation of a bone tissue, coagulability of blood, transfer of nervous impulses, reduction of skeletal and unstriated muscles, normal cardiac performance. It also promotes iron absorption.

Magnesium participates in formation of muscular and bone fabrics, and also takes part in protein synthesis.

Iron is a part of a molecule of hemoglobin, participates in transfer of oxygen in an organism and prevents development of anemia.

Phosphorus, along with calcium, participates in formation of bones and teeth, and also participates in processes of energy balance.

Manganese promotes a mineralization of bones.

Copper is necessary for normal function of erythrocytes and exchange of iron.

Zinc is necessary for an angenesis, is a part of some hormones, including insulin.

Indications to use:

As prophylactic at the states which are followed by increase in need for vitamins and minerals:

the raised exercise stress, including during active sports activities;

period of pregnancy and lactation;

irregular, defective food or uniform food allowance.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, after a breakfast. The dragee should be swallowed entirely, washing down with a small amount of water.

To adults and children 10 years — on 1 dragee of red color and 1 dragee of blue color a day are more senior. Course of administration of drug of 20 days. The course of administration of drug can be repeated after a break (1–3 months) or according to the recommendation of the doctor.

Features of use:

Coloring of urine in yellow color is possible — absolutely harmlessly and is explained by existence in Riboflavinum drug.

Patients with a diabetes mellitus need to know that each tablet contains 0,8 g of sugar, and the day dose of drug contains 1,6 g of sugar.

The dragee of Duovit® of red and blue color contains 331 mg of lactose, 1083 mg of sucrose, 270 mg of glucose, 237 mg of sorbitol therefore drug is not recommended to patients with inborn intolerance of glucose and fructose, with sprues of a glucose/galactose and deficit of sucrose/isomaltose.

Contains in drug глицерол, at overdose the headache and frustration from a GIT (diarrhea, vomiting) are possible.

E124 and E110 azoic dyes can cause reactions of hypersensitivity with an asthmatic component. Reactions of hypersensitivity to drug are possible at patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.

Dragees of red color contain polyol (Mannitolum) which in high doses can cause diarrhea.

It is not necessary to exceed the recommended daily dose, at accidental reception of high doses it is necessary to see a doctor immediately.

Influence on ability to drive the car and other mechanisms. Дуовит® does not exert impact on ability to manage vehicles and to work with mechanisms.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, including reactions of hypersensitivity with an asthmatic component are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Drug contains iron and calcium and therefore absorption in intestines of antibiotics from group of tetracyclines, and also antimicrobic means — derivative ftorkhinolon detains.

Vitamin C strengthens action and side effects of antimicrobic means from group of streptocides (including emergence of crystals in urine).

The antiacid drugs containing aluminum, magnesium, calcium and also Colestyraminum reduce iron absorption. Therefore in need of joint purpose of Duovita® and antiacid drugs it is necessary to sustain an interval between receptions not less than 3 h.

At co-administration of diuretics from group of tiazid the probability of a hypercalcemia increases.

It is not recommended to accept Duovit® together with other drugs containing vitamins and minerals.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast

During pregnancy and a lactation drug can be used on doctor's orders.

Overdose:

Overdose cases at administration of drug in the recommended doses are noted.

Symptoms: at considerable exceeding of the recommended doses chances of a hypervitaminosis of A and D, a headache, frustration from a GIT (vomiting, diarrhea).

Storage conditions:

Period of validity 3 years. To store in dry, protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C.

On 10 dragees in the blister (in 1 blister of 5 dragees with vitamins – red color and 5 dragees with minerals – blue color). On 4 blisters in a cardboard pack together with the application instruction.
