General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent of a dimetinden maleate.
1 g of gel for external use contains 1 mg of a dimetinden.
Excipients:
benzalkoniya chloride, dinatrium эдетеат, карбопол 974 P (carbomer 974 P), propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide (solution of 30% of mom), the water purified.

Description. Homogeneous colourless gel. Transparent or poorly opalescent. Almost inodorous.




Pharmacological properties:

Antihistaminic, antiallergic and antipruritic means. Blocker H1-gistaminovgkh of receptors, is a competitive antagonist of a histamine. Indications to use:

Skin itch of various origin (except connected with a cholestasia), for example: pruritic dermatosis, eczema, urticaria, stings of insects.
Sunblister, household and production burns (easy degree).


Route of administration and doses:

Outwardly. Gel is applied on an affected area of skin by 2-4 times a day. In cases of the expressed itch or widespread damages of skin simultaneous use of peroral forms is recommended.


Features of use:

At babies and children of younger age it is not necessary to use drug on extensive sites of skin, especially in the presence of the phenomena of an inflammation or bleeding.
At the expressed itch or at defeat of extensive sites of skin drug can be used only after consultation with the doctor.
At Fenistil's use of gel on extensive sites of skin it is necessary to avoid influence of sunshine.

Side effects:

Dryness, burning of skin. In rare instances - skin rash and an itch.


Interaction with other medicines:

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the dimetinden and other components which are a part of drug, closed-angle glaucoma, a prostate hyperplasia, children's age up to 1 month, especially premature.

With care - pregnancy 1 trimester, the lactation period.

Use at pregnancy and a lactation:
Use of drug in the first three months of pregnancy is possible only after consultation with the doctor. In II and III trimesters of pregnancy, and also in the period of a lactation Fenistil gel should not be applied on extensive sites of skin, especially in the presence of the phenomena of an inflammation or bleeding. Nursing mothers should not apply drug on nipples of mammary glands.


Overdose:

Cases of overdose are not described.


Storage conditions:

Period of validity. 3 years. Not to use after expiry date. At a temperature below 25 °C in the place, unavailable to children.
