BISACODYL

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: bisacodyl - 5 mg;

excipients: lactose (sugar milk), potato starch, starch prezhelatinizirovanny, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide colloid (aerosil), magnesium stearate; cover: AKRIL-IZ (copolymer of methacrylic acid with ethyl acrylate 1:1, titanium dioxide, talc, triethyl citrate, silicon dioxide colloid anhydrous (aerosil), Natrii hydrocarbonas, sodium lauryl sulfate), a macrogoal, ferrous oxide yellow, ferrous oxide red.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Causes irritation of the receptor device of a gut, directly influencing a mucous membrane of intestines, strengthening its peristaltics and increasing secretion of slime in a large intestine. Effect of bisacodyl comes in 6 h, at administration of drug before going to bed - through 8-12ch.

Pharmacokinetics. It is not soaked up in intestines. Being pro-medicine, in the alkaline environment it is hydrolyzed with formation of the metabolite rendering irritant action on a mucous membrane of digestive tract.

Indications to use:

Hypotonic and atonic locks (including locks at elderly; locks after operations and childbirth). Regulation of a chair at hemorrhoids, a proctitis, anal fissures. Preparation for tool and X-ray inspections, surgeries.

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, before going to bed for the night or in the morning, for half of hour till a breakfast, to adults and children 14 years - 5-15 mg are more senior; children are 2-7 years old - 5 mg; 8-14 years - 5-10 mg. By preparation for an operative measure or for diagnostic testings - 10-20 mg in the evening in. Tablets need to be swallowed, without chewing and washing down with a small amount of water.

Features of use:

Not to apply for a long time (more than 10 days).

Side effects:

From digestive tract: intestinal colic, diarrhea (as a result - dehydration, disturbance of water and electrolytic exchange, muscular weakness, spasms, decrease in the ABP), an abdominal pain, a meteorism. Allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

Use of bisacodyl together with antacids can lead to premature dissolution of its cover and irritation of a stomach and a 12-perstny gut. It is not recommended to accept along with milk and alkaline mineral water.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to bisacodyl and other components of drug; intestinal impassability, the restrained hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of abdominal organs, peritonitis, bleedings from a GIT, a metrorrhagia, cystitis, spastic locks, an acute proctitis, acute hemorrhoids, chest age.

Overdose:

Symptoms: diarrhea, dehydration, disturbance of water and electrolytic balance, hypopotassemia, atony of a large intestine.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions:
