Ketoprofen

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 2,5 g of ketoprofen.

Excipients — propylene glycol, alcohol of ethyl 95% (ethanol), carbomer 940 (carboxyvinylpolymer), trietanolamine (троламин), a benzalkoniya chloride, the water purified.

The gel rendering local antiinflammatory, anti-exudative and analgetic action.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. In the form of gel provides local medical effect concerning the affected joints, sinews, ligaments, muscles. At a joint syndrome causes weakening of joint pains at rest and at the movement, reduction of morning constraint and a swelling of joints. Does not exert catabolic impact on a joint cartilage.

Pharmacokinetics. At cutaneous application it is soaked up slowly. Practically does not kumulirut in an organism. Bioavailability of gel — about 5%.

Indications to use:

- Musculoskeletal system diseases: a pseudorheumatism, the psoriasis arthritis ankylosing a spondylarthritis, an osteoarthrosis of peripheral joints and a backbone, rheumatic defeats of soft tissues
- Muscular pains of a rheumatic and not rheumatic origin
- Traumatic damages of soft tissues without damage of integuments.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is used outwardly. Once use 3-5 cm of drug (volume of large cherry). Depending on the size of the damaged site to apply gel 2-3 times a day or according to doctor's instructions, carefully rubbing before full absorption. Treatment duration without consultation of the doctor should not exceed 10 days.

Features of use:

Drug should be applied only on the unimpaired skin. To avoid hit in eyes and on a mucous membrane. In order to avoid manifestations of hypersensitivity and photosensitivity, it is recommended to avoid impact on skin of sunshine during a course of treatment.

Use at pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Drug cannot be used in the III trimester of pregnancy. Experience of use of drugs of ketoprofen in the period of a lactation is not available. Use in I and II trimesters is possible only after consultation with the doctor.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, photosensitization. In case of development of any undesirable phenomenon, it is necessary to see a doctor.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen or other components of drug, acetylsalicylic acid or other NPVP, "aspirinovy" asthma, pregnancy (the III trimester), the latation period, children's age (up to 6 years), disturbance of integrity of integuments, the becoming wet dermatosis, eczema.

With care: a hepatic porphyria (aggravation), digestive tract erosive cankers, heavy abnormal liver functions and kidneys, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, advanced age, children's age up to 12 years, pregnancy I and II trimesters.

Overdose:

Extremely low system absorption of active components of drug at external use makes overdose almost impossible.

Storage conditions:

In the dry, protected from light place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 20 °C. Period of validity 2 years. Not to apply after expiry date.

Gel for external use of 2,5%. On 30 g or on 50 g in tubas aluminum or in banks on 30 g. To a tube or bank together with the application instruction place in a pack from a cardboard.
