Drotaverinum

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: 1 tablet contains - hydrochloride Drotaverinum (in terms of 100% substance) 0,04 g;

excipients: cellulose microcrystallic, potato starch, sugar milk, aerosil, calcium stearate.

Pharmacological properties:

Spasmolysant of myotropic action. Reduces intake of the ionized calcium in smooth muscle cells at the expense of inhibition of phosphodiesterase and intracellular accumulation of tsAMF. Reduces a tone and motility of unstriated muscles, eliminates or warns spasms of unstriated muscles of various bodies irrespective of their localization, function and an innervation, reduces their physical activity, moderately expands blood vessels. Does not influence the autonomic nervous system. On chemical structure and properties it is close to a papaverine, however considerably surpasses the last in expressiveness and duration of spasmolytic action.

Indications to use:

Symptomatic therapy of the functional frustration and pain syndrome caused by a spasm of smooth muscles (at spasms of a stomach and intestines, a spastic colitis, a proctitis, a delay of gases after operation, attacks of cholelithic and pochechnokamenny diseases, at a peptic ulcer of a stomach and a 12-perstny gut, a pylorospasm, at spasms of peripheral vessels, a premenstrual syndrome, a dysmenorrhea).

Route of administration and doses:

The adult of 1 - 2 tablet 2 – 3 times a day, to children up to 6 years on 10 – 20 mg (0,5 tablets) of 1 - 2 time a day. Duration of reception depends on the nature of a disease and expressiveness of symptomatology and is defined individually.

Features of use:

With care appoint drug during pregnancy, lactations. It is also necessary to adhere to care at appointment as the patient with the expressed atherosclerosis of coronary arteries.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, feeling of heat, dizziness, hypotension, arrhythmias, perspiration, dermatitis.

Contraindications:

Individual sensitivity to drug components. Heavy hypotension.
