Hawthorn tincture

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: hawthorn fruits of-100 g.

Excipient: ethanol (alcohol) of 70% enough before receiving 1000 ml of drug.

Pharmacological properties:

Possesses moderate cardiotonic, spasmolytic, sedative action.

Indications to use:

Tinctura Crataegi is applied in complex therapy of functional cardiac disturbances, cardialgias, a menopausal syndrome, asthenoneurotic states.

Route of administration and doses:

The adult till 20-30 drops on reception 3-4 times a day to food. Course of treatment of 20-30 days. To children 12 years - are more senior till 10-15 than drops 3-4 times a day to food. Course of treatment of 20-30 days.

Features of use:

At prolonged use in high doses decrease in psychomotor reactions is possible that should be considered during the driving of transport, work with mechanisms, etc.

Side effects:

Development of allergic reactions (urticaria, itch) is in some cases possible, it is rare - dizziness, a tremor, drowsiness. At prolonged use in high doses bradycardia, arterial hypotension are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

At the combined use of Tinctura Crataegi and cardiac glycosides (strophanthin, digoxin, etc.) there is strengthening of cardiotonic effect; with beta adrenoblockers - strengthening of hypotensive effect is possible.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, pregnancy, the lactation period, children's age up to 12 years.
