Iodoxide

General characteristics. Structure:

Contains in 1 suppository: a yopovidona - 0,2 g, bases (poly(ethylene oxide) 1500 and poly(ethylene oxide) 400). Suppositories of color, brown with a brownish shade, torpedo-shaped form. The surface mramornost is allowed.

Pharmacological properties:

Antiseptic drug. Blocks amino groups of cellular proteins. Possesses a wide range of antimicrobic action. It is active concerning bacteria (including colibacillus, golden staphylococcus. Active agent of drug – iodine – is in a type of the complex with polyvinylpirrolidone (povidone) relating to iodophors which connect iodine. Concentration of active iodine - 0,1-1%. At contact with skin and mucous iodine is gradually and evenly released, having bactericidal effect on microorganisms. On site uses there is a thin painted layer which remains until all amount of iodine is released.

Indications to use:

Treatment of acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases of a vagina (mecotic, fungal, virus, nonspecific, multi-infections); bacterial vaginitis. Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications before carrying out gynecologic interventions (abortion, installation and removal of an intrauterine spiral, diathermocoagulation of a neck of uterus, a gisterosalpingografiya and others).

Route of administration and doses:

Previously having exempted suppository from a blister strip packaging, it is entered, lying on spin, it is deep in a vagina. At acute vaginita – on 1 suppository 2 times a day within 7 days, at subacute and chronic vaginita – on 1 suppository of 1 times a day before going to bed within 14 days (irrespective of a phase of a menstrual cycle).

Features of use:

In case of not manifest hyperthyroidism and other diseases of a thyroid gland (especially at elderly patients) drug is used only according to strict indications and under constant medical control. To avoid hit in eyes.

Side effects:

Itch, hyperemia in the place of use, allergic reactions.

Interaction with other medicines:

Йодоксид® it is incompatible with the disinfectants containing mercury; oxidizers, salts of alkalis and substances with acid reaction. In the presence of blood bactericidal action can decrease.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components, a thyrotoxicosis, herpetiform dermatitis of Dyuringa, adenoma of a thyroid gland, simultaneous therapy by a radioiodine, newborn children.

Storage conditions:

List B. In dry, protected from light and the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 20 °C.

Suppositories vaginal on 0,2 g on 5 pieces in a blister strip packaging. 2 or 3 blister strip packagings together with the instruction on a medical use in a cardboard pack.
