General characteristics. Structure:

International name: Arginine glutamate;
main physical and chemical properties: transparent colourless liquid; 
structure: 1 ml supports arginine of a glutamate (in terms of dry matter) 40 mg; 
excipients: water for injections.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Glutargin is compound of arginine and glutaminic acid which play an important role in ensuring biochemical processes of neutralization and removal from an organism of a highly toxic metabolite of exchange of nitrogenous substances – ammonia. Gipoammoniyemichesky effects of drug are implemented by activation of neutralization of ammonia in an ornitinovy cycle of synthesis of urea, binding of ammonia in a non-toxic glutamine, and also strengthenings of removal of ammonia from the central nervous system and its excretion from an organism. Thanks to these properties of Glutargin all-toxic, including neurotoxic effects of ammonia decrease. 
Glutargin has also hepatoprotective effect, having antioxidant, anti-hypoxemic and membrane stabilizing properties, positively influences processes of power supply in hepatocytes. 
At a drunkenness Glutargin stimulates utilization of alcohol in monooksigenazny system of a liver, prevents oppression of key enzyme of utilization of ethanol – alcohol dehydrogenase; accelerates an inactivation and removal of toxic products of metabolism of ethanol as a result of increase in education and oxidation of succinic acid; reduces oppressing influences of alcohol on TsNS due to neuromediator properties of exciting glutaminic acid. Thanks to these properties Glutargin shows the anti-toxic and sobering effects.
Glutargin does not render embriotoksichesky, gonadotoksichesky and mutagen effects, does not cause allergic and immunotoxic reactions.

Indications to use:

Acute and chronic hepatitises of various etiology, poisoning with hepatotropic poisons (death angel, chemical and medicinal substances), cirrhosis, leptospirosis. Hepatic encephalopathy, a prekoma and a coma which are followed by a giperammoniyemiya. Condition of acute alcoholic poisoning of average and heavy degree, including alcoholic encephalopathy and coma. The Postintoksikatsionny frustration caused by alcohol intake.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is appointed the adult intravenously. Enter kapelno 2 times a day on 50 ml (2 g) on 150–250 ml of isotonic solution of sodium of chloride with a speed of 60-70 thaws a minute. In hard cases the daily dose of drug raises to 150–200 ml (6–8 g). A course of treatment – 5–10 days. The highest daily dose – 200 ml (8 g). 
For treatment of alcoholic poisoning appoint 20 ml (0,8 g) and enter kapelno on 150–250 ml of isotonic solution of sodium of chloride with a speed of 60-70 thaws a minute 2 times a day within 2–3 days, then the dose is reduced to 10 ml (0,4 g) by 2 times a day within 10 days. In hard cases (an alcoholic coma) the daily dose raises to 50 ml (2 g) 2 times a day. 
After a course of treatment of 4%, if necessary, it is necessary to pass with Glutargin's solution to reception of tablets of Glutargin.

Features of use:

At appointment patients with disturbances of functions of closed glands should consider that drug stimulates secretion of insulin and a growth hormone.

Side effects:

It is not established.

Interaction with other medicines:

At simultaneous use Aminophyllinum exponentiates increase in concentration of endogenous insulin in blood.

Contraindications:

Relative contraindication are feverish states, a hyperexcitability and violently proceeding psychotic reactions, heavy disturbances of filtrational (azotovydelitelny) function of kidneys.

Overdose:

Symptoms: pain in a thorax, an atrioventricular block. 
Treatment: in these cases intravenous administration of corticosteroids is necessary.

Storage conditions:

To store in the place protected from light at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
Period of validity – 2 years.
