Kombinil

Kombinil – ear and eye drops for topical administration. This drug is widely used in otolaryngologic practice and in ophthalmology.

Form of release and composition of drug Kombinil Duo

Drops Kombinil are issued in bottles droppers in the form of solution from colourless till yellow color. Rolled into one drug 1 ml of ciprofloxacin and 3 mg of dexamethasone contains. Auxiliary components: dinatrium эдетат, chloride a bezalkoniya, Mannitolum, Acidum hydrochloricum, гидроксипропилбетациклодекстрин, water for injections.

Pharmacological action Kombinil Duo

Active components of drug ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone provide antimicrobic and antiinflammatory actions.

Ciprofloxacin has the expressed activity on the relation as to the gram-negative bacteria breeding, and staying at rest. Dexamethasone – the synthetic glucocorticosteroid which is carrying out a role of the antiinflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. This component reduces permeability and proliferation of capillaries, local exudation, cellular infiltration, adjournment of collagen and activity of fibroblasts. Thanks to dexamethasone, Kombinil Duo is capable to suppress formation of cicatricial fabric.

Experience of use of drops Kombinil shows that active component of drug ciprofloxacin perfectly gets into various tissues of an eye (except a crystalline lens). The maximum concentration of active ingredient is observed half an hour later after an instillation in moisture of an anterior chamber. Dexamethasone well gets into a conjunctiva and an epithelium of a cornea.

The auxiliary component of drug provides long preservation of active component on the surface of an eye, increasing duration of action and efficiency of drug.

Indications to use of drops Kombinil Duo

According to the instruction Kombinil is applied at infectious and inflammatory diseases of an eye and its appendages – acute and subacute conjunctivitis, a keratitis, a front uveitis, a blepharitis and other inflammatory diseases a century. Drops Kombinil can be applied to prevention and treatment of infectious complications after operations on an eyeglobe or after an injury of an eye and its appendages.

Drops Kombinil can be applied also at infectious and inflammatory diseases of an ear – acute outside otitis, acute average otitis at the shunt of a tympanic membrane, acute average otitis with an otorrhea and granulations in the presence of the shunt of a tympanic membrane.

The instruction to use

At infectious and inflammatory processes in a cavity of an eye and its appendages one-two drops of Kombinil dig in in a conjunctival sac each four-six hours. In the first days of treatment of an instillation it is possible to repeat every two hours.

According to the instruction Kombinil at blepharites, bacterial conjunctivitis is recommended to apply from five days to two weeks, at a keratitis – from two to four weeks. For prevention of inflammatory processes after the operations including perforation of an eyeglobe – from five days to one month. If this medicine is applied more than ten days, then it is necessary to carry out monitoring of intraocular pressure of the patient.

At infectious and inflammatory diseases of an ear it is necessary to dig in to the acoustical canal of the affected ear four drops Kombinil twice a day within a week.

Before a means instillation acoustical pass needs to be washed out and drained previously. Before an instillation drug should be warmed to body temperature. Then to lay down and throw back the head for simplification of an instillation. To Zakapat necessary quantity of drops in outside acoustical pass and to allow them to flow down, having delayed an ear lobe back and down. Before full penetration of drops within a minute it is impossible to change position of the head.

Contraindications to use Kombinil Duo

Drops Kombinil cannot be used at a herpetic keratitis and other virus defeats of a conjunctiva and a cornea, tuberculosis of eyes, fungal infections of eyes, viral infections of acoustical pass, perforation of a tympanic membrane. According to the instruction Kombinil Duo it is impossible to apply at children's age up to 18 years, and also at hypersensitivity to the operating components or to any of auxiliary components of drug, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effect Kombinil Duo

Kombinil throughout a long time can lead a drug instillation to reddening, an itch of eyes, hypostasis of veins, to sight misting, and also to narrowing of fields of vision and decrease in visual acuity. Drops Kombinil at long use can promote formation of a cataract, a conjunctiva hyperemia. At prolonged use of means consecutive infection can join a basic disease (bacterial or fungal).

At an instillation of drops in outside acoustical pass the sensation of discomfort in an ear, an ear congestion can appear. Sometimes at an instillation of drug healing of wounds is slowed down, the face edema and skin rash, flavoring perversions develops.

Special instructions

Prolonged use of eye drops sometimes is followed by increase in intraocular pressure. Increase in intraocular pressure can be followed by decrease in fields and visual acuities, injury of an optic nerve, formation of a cataract. Therefore when using means Kombinil Duo is recommended to control more than ten days intraocular pressure. At purulent infections in the acute period corticosteroid medicines can worsen or disguise the main symptoms of a disease considerably.

After use of eye drops the clearness of visual perception sometimes decreases. Therefore after an instillation of drug it is not necessary to drive the car. Contact lenses can be dressed only twenty minutes later after an instillation of drops.

Conditions and periods of storage

Drops Kombinil store at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of storage – two years. Drug after opening of a bottle should be used within a month.
