Oksibral – means for stimulation of brain activity.

Pharmacological action

Active ingredient of Oksibral is Vincaminum – one of plant alkaloids the Periwinkle small (Vinca minor). Vincaminum improves a metabolism in brain fabrics due to glucose assimilation process activation by brain cells. The trophicity of fabrics is normalized also due to stimulation of cerebral circulation – under the influence of Oksibral there is a normalization of a blood-groove in brain vessels as it renders the selective moderately dilatiruyushchy (expanding) effect on vessels of the brain pool. Numerous reviews of Oksibrala from specialists demonstrate that drug eliminates oxygen insufficiency of brain fabrics by strengthening of supply of neurons with oxygen.

Release form

Oksibral is issued in the form of capsules and in the form of solution for injections.

Capsules of the prolonged action, everyone contains microgranules of two flowers – blue and white.

As a part of one capsule: Vincaminum (30 g) and excipients: sucrose, lactose, povidone, copolymer of methacrylic acid, shellac, gelatin, talc, erythrosine, blue сеписперс, indigo carmine. In the blister of 20 capsules.

Solution for injections is produced in ampoules on 2 ml, transparent colourless or slightly yellowish. Each ampoule contains 15 mg of Vincaminum and excipients: propylene glycol, tartaric acid, sodium metabisulphite, sodium bicarbonate, tartaric acid, the purified water for injections. Packaging contains 5 ampoules.

Oksibral's analogs

Oksibral's analog is drug Vinoksin containing the same active ingredient, Vincaminum in the structure. Aminalonum, Cavintonum and other neurometabolic stimulators possess similar action. On the nature of the had effect it is also possible to carry to Oksibral's analogs Nootropil and other medicines which active agent is piracetam. However unlike Oksibral, piratsetamsoderzhashchy drugs have no vazodilatiruyushchy effect on brain vessels.

Indications to Oksibral's use

Oksibral's use is shown at all types of disturbance or decrease in brain activity. According to the instruction Oksibral appoint according to the following indications:

• Medicamentous rehabilitation after the had ischemic stroke and as prevention at threat of its development;
• Insufficiency of cerebral circulation;
• The increased intracranial pressure;
• Hypertension, especially with the expressed cerebral component;
• Migraine and migrenepodobny attacks;
• Attacks of dizziness of not clear genesis;

Side effects

At use according to the instruction Oksibral is well had by patients. • Psychomotor excitement;

• Allergic reactions: skin itch, small tortoiseshell, erythema, Quincke's disease.

For elimination of side effects reduce a drug dosage, or interrupt treatment for 1-2 days. In case of development of allergic reactions replace Oksibral with other medicine of similar action.

Application instruction of Oksibral

Following the instruction Oksibral appoint on 1 capsule (30 mg) 2 times a day. Also drug can be appointed in the form of intramuscular or intravenous injections, in this case a dosage for adults: 2 ampoules intramusculary, or intravenously kapelno in connection with isotonic solution for infusions, twice a day.

It is recommended to apply Oksibral in children's practice only in the form of intramuscular injections or intravenous infusions, the single dose makes 15 mg of active ingredient (1 ampoule), 1 or 2 times a day on doctor's orders.

Therapy duration is defined by this drug in each case individually. In view of its good tolerance and lack of the expressed toxic action, in the presence of indications perhaps prolonged use – about one year.

Oksibral it is forbidden to apply without appointment of the doctor.

Contraindications

Oksibral's use contraindicated with the increased individual sensitivity to any of drug components, disturbances of a cordial rhythm, tumors of a brain, a hypopotassemia, hypocalcemia, a convulsive syndrome of undetected genesis. Drug is not recommended to be accepted during pregnancy and breastfeeding as the researches confirming its safety during these periods were not conducted.

In case of treatment of associated diseases other medicines during Oksibral's use it is necessary to inform on it the attending physician as undesirable interactions are possible.

Rules of storage

This medicinal substance should be stored in the dark dry place, at the air temperature which is not exceeding 30 °C. Period of storage 3 years. To protect from children.
