Propranolol Nikomed

Propranolol Nikomed – the drug having hypotensive, antiarrhytmic and anti-anginal effect.

Form of release and structure

Propranolol Nikomed is produced in the form of tablets (on 50 pieces in bottles).

Active agent is a part of 1 tablet: a propranolol hydrochloride – 10, 40, or 80 mg.

Indications to use

  • Tachyarrhythmia (ventrikulyarny and supraventricular);
  • Arterial hypertension;
  • Migraine (for prevention);
  • Coronary heart disease;
  • Thyrotoxicosis;
  • Pheochromocytoma.

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • Chronic obstructive diseases of lungs and bronchial asthma;
  • Cardiogenic shock;
  • Cardiovascular insufficiency;
  • Sinuatrial and atrioventricular block;
  • Hypotension;
  • The expressed bradycardia;
  • Reynaud's syndrome;
  • Anesthesia drugs which oppress function of a myocardium (ether).

Relative (purpose of Propranolol Nikomed demands care at the following diseases / states):

  • The alternating lameness;
  • Diabetes mellitus.

Drug use by the feeding and pregnant women perhaps only in the presence of strict indications.

Route of administration and dosage

Propranolol Nikomed is accepted inside.

The recommended dosing mode:

  • Tachyarrhythmia: adults – 3-4 times a day on 10-30 mg; children – 0,2-0,4 mg/kg a day (in 3-4 receptions);
  • Hypertensia: 2 times a day on 40 mg, within 14-28 days a dose it is possible to increase to 80-160 mg with the same frequency rate of reception;
  • Thyrotoxicosis: 3-4 times a day on 10-40 mg;
  • Stenocardia (prevention): 4 times a day on 20 mg, within 7 days a daily dose it is possible to increase to 160-240 mg (4 times a day on 40 mg or 2-3 times a day on 80 mg);
  • Migraine (prevention): adults – 2 times a day on 40 mg, further increase a daily dose to 160-240 mg in 2-3 receptions (on 80 mg 2-3 times a day); children – 1,5-2 mg/kg a day in 3-4 receptions;
  • Myocardial infarction (prevention after a heart attack): 3 times a day on 40 mg, are possible increase in a single dose twice.

At therapy of a pheochromocytoma it is necessary previously and along with Propranolol Nikomed to enter alpha adrenoblockers.

Side effects

Probable side reactions: a hypoglycemia, nausea, skin rash, fatigue, weakness of muscles, dizziness, decrease in working capacity, a depression, sleeplessness, bradycardia, an atrioventricular block, hypotension, heart failure, a cold snap of hands and legs (because of narrowing of peripheral vessels), an agranulocytosis and thrombocytopenia, a bronchospasm, a withdrawal (in the form of a headache, perspiration, stenocardia, tachycardia).

Special instructions

It is not necessary to break the dosing mode recommended in the instruction.

Data on significant interaction of Propranolol Nikomed with other drugs / substances are not submitted.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at the room temperature.
