Shereshevsky-Turner's syndrome

Синдром Шерешевского-Тернера – аномалия внутриутробного развитияPre-natal development of the child – difficult and rather long process. Not always it comes to the end with the birth of absolutely healthy kid. Among possible disturbances of development separately there are chromosomal anomalies. They differ on weight of defeat of a fruit and can cause in it as physical, so, afterwards, and mental deviations. One of similar anomalies is the syndrome of Shereshevsky-Turner which develops preferential at girls.

Shereshevsky-Turner's syndrome, reasons

The disease known as Shereshevsky-Turner's syndrome, is not too widespread pathology. This chromosomal anomaly was described at the beginning of the last century. For last years the disease is rather studied by various specialists. She received the name on names two scientific, revealed the main features of this pathology.

The syndrome of Shereshevsky-Turner which reasons were opened later only in the middle of the last century, is caused by inferiority of the chromosomal complement received by the child from parents. The karyotype of the person consists of 23 couples of chromosomes, last of which defines a sex. It can be presented or two identical – XX, or two different – XY chromosomes. In the first case the organism will develop on female type, in the second – on men's.

Damage or total absence in couple one X-chromosomes also causes development in the child of a syndrome of Shereshevsky-Turner which signs are shown already since the birth. At the same time at the beginning of pre-natal development chromosomal complement has normal structure. However sex cells quickly regress and, as a result, the baby is born, having a defective karyotype.

Shereshevsky-Turner's syndrome, symptoms

Already in the period of a neonatality at the child it is possible to see characteristic signs of a deviation in physical development. It differs in the small growth and low body weight. On the side surface of a neck there are alate skin folds, the border of growth of hair is considerably reduced, auricles are underdeveloped, puffiness of feet is noted. Very low growth becomes distinctive feature of such child, in process of his growing.

Shereshevsky-Turner's syndrome, treatment

As chromosomal anomaly, Shereshevsky-Turner's syndrome to treatment is subject only to symptomatic. That the patient could lead a normal life, she nevertheless needs to receive medical care. At early age treatment is directed to growth stimulation, at the same time anabolic steroids and Somatotropinum are appointed. At the child in the operational way make removal of alate skin folds on a neck.
