Skinoren treats group of the dermatological drugs possessing the expressed antibacterial and anti-proliferative action. Skinoren is choice drug in treatment of acne rash. Active ingredient – the azelaic acid – renders antiinflammatory, keratolytic, antibacterial effect, thus covering all links of a pathogeny of an acne disease. The antibacterial effect is caused by division inhibition in cells of pathogenic microorganisms. It is important that at the moment there is no resistance of microorganisms in the azelaic acid. Thanks to keratolytic action of Skinoren and analogs of this drug there is a destruction of already arisen comedones and development of new is prevented. At the expense of inhibition of synthesis of the fatty acids rendering irritant action on skin the antiinflammatory effect is caused. Skinoren gel suits patients with fatter skin. Drug Skinoren in the form of gel is less concentrated (15%, unlike 20% of concentration of cream) therefore it can be appointed the first of two forms. When skin gets used to drug a little, more concentrated cream is appointed.

Skinoren cream represents an emulsion, absorption by skin of active ingredient from such form is less, and due to higher concentration drug renders also bleaching effect. Thanks to these properties Skinoren is applied at a skin hyperpegmentation, and also to patients with drier skin.

Indications to Skinoren's use:

• acne vulgaris, or ordinary eels;
• seborrheal dermatitis (in this case Skinoren in the form of cream is applied);
• pathological pigmentation (also for a cream form);

Drug dosage

According to the instruction, Skinoren it is necessary twice a day in a small amount to apply on the sites of face skin which are previously cleared by water, if necessary – other struck areas (skin of a back, a neck, an upper part of a breast). Duration of treatment depends on a specific disease.

Contraindications to Skinoren's use

Skinoren's use at pregnancy and a lactation

Thanks to low bioavailability and small toxicity of the azelaic acid Skinoren's use and analogs is possible at pregnancy, and also in the period of a lactation. Possible concentration of drug in breast milk is small and is not dangerous to the child.

Skinoren's use in pediatrics: it is possible to apply Skinoren at children from age of 12 years.
