Anatoxin (Greek ana-(prefix) – returnable action, action strengthening, the movement up + Greek toxikon (pharmakon) – poison; synonym: toxoid) – bacterial exotoxin which lost toxicity because of long influence by formalin at preservation of antigenic properties is applied to active immunization.
