Botkina symptom

Botkina symptom (S. P. Botkin, domestic therapist, 1832-1889):

  1. Asymmetry of a thorax at which lag in development of its left half is observed is observed at the rheumatic narrowing of the left atrioventricular opening which arose at children's age; forms as a result of increase in the right departments of heart in the presence of rather small left ventricle;
  2. The small-bubbling and crepitant wet rattles caused by squeezing of pulmonary fabric the increased left auricle which are changeably listened when narrowing the left atrioventricular opening on the left and upper bound of heart;
  3. Pains in heart (a synonym: a symptom holetsistokoronarny), arising in a gall bladder at such pathological processes as cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, etc.
