Hemolysins

Hemolysins (Greek haima – blood + lysis – destruction, disintegration) – substances which are capable to destroy (to lyse) erythrocytes.

Emit hemolysins:

  • bacteria (synonym: hemotoxins bacterial) – the representing waste products of bacteria (for example, some streptococci, stafilokokk);
  • immune – formed at immunization and being antibodies to erythrocytes;
  • normal – hemolysins of blood serum of neimmunizirovanny individuals which can lyse erythrocytes of the individuals belonging to other species.
