Ventrikulotsisternostomiya

Ventrikulotsisternostomiya (ventriculocisternostomia; anatomic ventriculus – a ventricle, a stomach + tanks subarachnoid (subarachnoidal) + Greek stoma – an opening) – the surgery intended for implementation of the message between subarachnoid tanks and a cavity of the third or side ventricle of a brain for therapy of occlusal hydrocephaly.

Types of a ventrikulotsisternostomiya:

  • Nadkhiazmalny (suprachiasmatica; anatomic chiasma – decussation) – applied to removal of cerebrospinal liquid from the third ventricle of a brain by means of perforation of a terminal plate;
  • Anterolateral (anterolateralis) – intended for removal of cerebrospinal liquid in the tank of a lateral (side) pole of a great brain from a front horn of a side ventricle of a brain.
