Ursosan

Ursosan - a gepatoprotektor with cholelitholytic and cholagogue action.

Drug is presented in the form of solid gelatin capsules with white powder which active ingredient is ursodezoksikholevy acid. Excipients of Ursosan are corn starch, magnesium stearate, colloid silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide and gelatin.

Pharmacological action of Ursosan

Ursosan and analogs of drug are gepatoprotektor - the medicines promoting increase in protective functions of a liver, and also recovery of activity of its enzymes. The main objective of Ursosan as gepatoprotektor, consists in protection of body from toxic influences, rendering on a liver hypolipidemic, gipokholesterinemichesky, cholelitholytic, cholagogue and, somewhat, immunomodulatory action.

Ursodezoksikholevy acid, having high polar properties, it is attached to a hepatocyte membrane, forming the mixed non-toxic micelles. It promotes stabilization of structure of a cell and strengthening of its protective properties. Besides, Ursosan according to the instruction stimulates removal of toxic compounds of bile acids through intestines, reduces formation of cholesterol and its absorption, promotes painless destruction of cholesteric stones and interfering with formation of new crystals.

Indications to Ursosan's use

According to responses to Ursosan drug is effective in the relation:

• Cholelithiasis for dissolution of bilious cholesteric stones at impossibility of their removal endoscopic and surgical by methods, and also as prophylactic of a recurrence of a lithogenesis;
• Chronic active hepatitis;
• Acute hepatitis;
• Toxic (including, and medicinal) damages of a liver;
• Alcoholic liver disease;
• Not alcoholic steatogepatit;
• Primary sclerosing cholangitis;
• Primary biliary cirrhosis;
• Cystous fibrosis of a liver;
• Dyskinesia of biliary tract;
• Atresias of intra hepatic bilious ways;
• Biliary reflux esophagitis and reflux gastritis;
• Biliary dispeptic syndrome.

Besides, Ursosan's use as prophylactic allows to avoid damages of a liver at reception of tsitostatik and hormonal contraceptives.

Contraindications

Ursosan and analogs of drug are prohibited to use at:

• Existence of rentgenpolozhitelny gallstones (with the high content of calcium);
• Nonfunctioning gall bladder;
• Bilious gastrointestinal fistula;
• Acute cholangitis;
• Acute cholecystitis;
• Cirrhosis in a decompensation stage;
• Liver and renal failure;
• Obturation of biliary tract;
• To empyema of a gall bladder;
• Acute infectious diseases of bilious channels and gall bladder;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

In the presence of indications to Ursosan drug is taken by children of 2-4 years with caution. In spite of the fact that the ursodezoksikholevy acid which is active ingredient of Ursosan has no age restrictions, small children can have difficulties with a proglatyvaniye of capsules.

At pregnancy

Purpose of ursodezoksikholevy acid in the presence of indications to Ursosan at pregnancy is possible only in case of a reasonable ratio of the expected advantage and potential risk for fetation. Data on presence of active ingredient of Ursosan at breast milk are not available today, however, in need of use of drug during a lactation it is necessary to stop breastfeeding temporarily.

Special instructions

At Ursosan's use according to the instruction it is necessary to meet the following conditions:

• Stones have to be X-ray negative (cholesteric);
• The size of stones should not exceed 20 mm;
• The gall bladder has to function and remain filled with stones no more than for 50%;
• Passability of a bilious and vesical flow has to be kept.

According to reviews to Ursosan, for obtaining the maximum medical effect administration of drug after a full rassasyvaniye of stones needs to be continued within 3 months. Prolonged use of medicine will promote destruction of the remains of stones which are too small for detection by diagnostic methods.

According to the instruction to Ursosan, administration of drug obliges more than 1 month the patient regularly (each 3 months) to carry out biochemical analysis of blood for identification of a degree of activity of hepatic transaminases.
