The venereologist can appoint analyses at suspicion of developing of venereal diseases. Among all known analyses the venereologist most often appoints blood test, the analysis of a smear to urinogenital infections, the analysis of a smear on flora at women and men, RW, AIDS (HIV), hepatitis C or B.

Smear – a cotton ball of the small size on the end of a thin stick similar on wadded. Carry out by him in various places for receiving samples of slime, cells or allocations. These samples can be taken by the venereologist from a penis, a vagina, an anus and/or a throat. The sample goes to the analysis to laboratory. On a sample of a smear it is also possible to reveal diseases, not sexually transmitted – a bacterial vaginosis, the milkwoman and other microorganisms. The standard analysis on hepatitis C and B, HIV and syphilis is blood test.

Different clinics differently carry out analyses on sexually transmitted infections. After external survey the venereologist enters a dilator – the metal or plastic device for capture of a smear from a neck of uterus. He allows the doctor to consider in details a neck of uterus, and also to take samples for the analysis on existence of sexually transmitted infections. At men the smear undertakes from an urethra after external survey of genitalias. For sampling of cells of an urethra the doctor can use a plastic shovel. Sometimes smears from a throat and an anus are required. For detailed inspection of walls of an anus the venereologist most often uses a small plastic tube (ректоскоп).

For obtaining final result the provided sample is located in Petri's cup with special substance, growth-promoting bacteria. Usually growth of microorganisms requires two-three weeks. Results of analyses on trichomoniasis, syphilis, clamidiosis, hepatitis C and B are most often available in day of their delivery.

After obtaining results of analyses the venereologist has to explain them to the patient and tell about the revealed infection, to appoint the scheme of treatment to both partners and to inform that during treatment it is necessary to refrain from sexual contacts.

Quite often in parallel with therapy of venereal diseases the doctor appoints also drugs for treatment of skin diseases. If necessary additional inspection can be appointed.
