Венитан® forte

General characteristics. Structure:

Active agents:  β-эсцин amorphous 10 mg heparin sodium 100 ME
excipients: декспантенол; cordianine powdery; methylparahydroxysodium benzoate; sodium hydroxide; carboxypolymethylparahyenas — карбопол 934P; симетикон emulsion; propylene glycol; the water purified.

Pharmacological properties:

Venitan forte — the combined angioprotektorny drug for external use which contains β-эсцин — extract from seeds of a horse-chestnut and heparin — anticoagulant of direct action.
Estsin is a natural mix of triterpenovy saponins which receive from horse-chestnut seeds (Aesculus hippocastanum L.), having antiedematous, venomotor properties and showing antiinflammatory activity. Besides, эсцин operates on an initial stage of inflammatory process that is connected with the increased membrane and capillary permeability and products of exudate in adjacent fabrics.
Estsin shows antiserotoninovy and antihistaminic effect; inhibits activity of a prostaglandinsintetaza. This enzyme is necessary for formation of prostaglandins which play an important role in the inflammation mechanism.
Estsin prevents decrease in content of ATP in endothelial cells and increases activity of a phospholipase of A2, the enzyme which is responsible for release of predecessors of mediators of an inflammation. Estsin reduces activity of the lizosomalny enzymes splitting proteoglycans which contain in walls of capillaries that increases capillary resistance reduces their permeability, reducing thereby amount of exudate and formation of hypostases.
Heparin blocks thrombin biosynthesis, prevents formation of fibrin from fibrinogen, renders antitrombotichesky, anti-exudative and moderate antiinflammatory action at topical administration.
Cordianine increases absorption of heparin through skin, has antiinflammatory effect and stimulates a local metabolism in the place of use, working synergy with heparin and estsiny.
Dekspantenol is a B5 vitamin analog. It is outwardly applied as an emollient. Accelerates skin epithelization at burns and trophic ulcers of a shin.
Due to low extent of absorption of the medicinal substances which are a part of gel they have no systemic action.

Indications to use:

Symptomatic treatment of venous diseases, such as surface fibrinferments, thrombophlebitises, phlebitis later in/in injections and infusions, a posttrombotichesky syndrome, a varicosity standing, trophic ulcers of a shin.
It is applied outwardly at the closed injuries, such as hematomas, bruises.
It is applied to prevention and treatment of hems of skin (postoperative and other origin).

Route of administration and doses:

To apply a thin film of gel on the damaged site of skin and around it 1–3 times a day. The lower extremities at the same time mass in the direction from below up. At trophic ulcers of a shin gel is applied only on edges of an ulcer (where blood circulation is broken). Gel is applied gradually, small portions (it is not necessary to cause all necessary amount of drug at once). At inflammatory diseases of veins gel is not rubbed.
Caution. At a varicosity simultaneous use of an elastic bandage or elastic stockings is standing recommended.
Duration of treatment depends on expressiveness of medical effect. If after 14 days of therapy of improvement does not come, it is necessary to see a doctor. Therapy can be continued to 8 weeks or before reduction of expressiveness of symptoms.

Features of use:

It is impossible to apply gel on open wounds or the inflamed skin, and also on mucous membranes. Not to rub when drawing. At sudden emergence of the expressed symptoms of venous insufficiency (hypostasis, skin discoloration, feeling of tension and pain), especially on one extremity, it is necessary to exclude a vein thrombosis of the lower extremities.
Gel contains methylparaben (Е 219) which can cause allergic reaction, a bronchospasm, and the propylene glycol capable to cause irritation of skin.
Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. Due to the lack of the relevant data gel should not be applied during pregnancy and feeding by a breast.
Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or other mechanisms. Does not influence.
Children. Experience of use of drug for children is not enough therefore patients of this age category are not recommended to appoint it.

Side effects:

Hypersensitivity reactions to drug components are possible. In case of such reactions it is necessary to stop use of drug and to see a doctor.

Interaction with other medicines:

Are unknown. It is not recommended to apply gel on the same site of skin together with other medicines for topical administration.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of drug components.

It was not reported.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C. To store in the place, unavailable to children. Drug Venitan® period of validity forte 2 years.
