Hung - Nol

General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: bismuth subcitrate;

1 capsule contains bismuth of subcitrate of colloid 499,8 mg in terms of B_2O3 120 mg;

excipients: potato starch, calcium stearate.

Pharmacological properties:

Possesses gastroprotektorny action. In acid medium of a stomach of bismuth subcitrate colloid forms a protective film on a surface of ulcers and erosion that promotes their scarring and protects a mucous membrane from influence of a gastric juice. Drug stimulates E2 prostaglandin synthesis, increases formation of mucin and secretion of a hydrocarbonate, leads to accumulation of an epidermal growth factor in a defect zone, reduces activity of pepsin and a pepsinogen.

Drug has antimicrobic activity in relation to Helicobacter pylori.

Bismuth subcitrate colloid is practically not soaked up in digestive tract, only the insignificant amount of active agent gets to blood and is excreted with urine, at the same time concentration of bismuth in a blood plasma after the end of treatment quickly decreases. It is removed preferential with a stake.

Indications to use:

Peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum, including the caused Helicobacter pylori (as a part of schemes of antikhelikobakterny therapy);
chronic gastritis also gastroduodenit in an aggravation phase, including the caused Helicobacter pylori;
the functional dyspepsia which is not connected with organic diseases of digestive tract;
the erosive cankers of a mucous membrane of a stomach and duodenum caused by reception of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
syndrome of the angry intestines which current is connected with diarrhea symptoms.

Route of administration and doses:

To accept inside, washing down with a small amount of water.

To adults and children from 14 years appoint on 1 capsule 4 times a day in 30 minutes prior to food and to night or 2 capsules 2 times a day in 30 minutes prior to food.

To children from 8 to 14 years appoint on 1 capsule 2 times a day in 30 minutes prior to food.

To children from 4 to 8 years appoint 8 mg/kg/days in a dose, having divided a daily dose into 2 receptions, but no more than 2 capsules a day.

Duration of a course of treatment – 4-8 weeks. For 8 weeks it is not necessary to accept the drugs containing bismuth.

In the presence of Helicobacter pylori use Hung - Nol in schemes of antikhelikobakterny therapy on doctor's orders. Duration of a combination therapy – 7-14 days.

For improvement of regeneration of ulcer defect perhaps further treatment Hung - Nol: on 1 capsule 4 times a day in 30 minutes prior to a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner, the 4th time – before going to bed. The general duration of therapy Hung - Nol – up to 6 weeks (at most 8 weeks).

Features of use:

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. It is not recommended.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or work with other mechanisms. Data on a negative impact Hung - Nola on speed of response are absent.

Children. Hung - Nol apply to children from 4 years.

Side effects:

From a digestive tract: very often (> 10%) – kcal of black color; infrequently - nausea, vomiting, a lock, diarrhea.

From skin and hypodermic cellulose: infrequently (> 0,1%, <1%) – rash, an itch.

From immune system: frequency is unknown – anaphylactic reactions.

Interaction with other medicines:

Reduces absorption of tetracyclines; the concomitant use of the drugs containing bismuth (Vicalinum, Vicairum) increases risk of excessive increase in concentration of bismuth in blood.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components. Heavy renal failure.

Appropriate security measures at use.

At use of drug coloring a calla in black color is possible. In that case it is necessary to see behind consultation a doctor.

It is not necessary to accept antiacid drugs and to drink milk for half an hour to and half an hour after administration of drug as the available gastric juice is necessary for formation of a blanket.

Long reception of compounds of bismuth is not recommended because of emergence in rare cases of encephalopathy. At observance of the recommended mode of administration of drug the risk of emergence of this side effect is very small. However throughout reception Hung - Nola is not recommended to accept other drugs containing bismuth.

Overdose:

At frequent reception of high doses of drug the overdose which is shown by the symptoms characteristic of a reversible renal failure is possible (increase in level of bismuth in a blood plasma).

Treatment consists in a gastric lavage with the subsequent reception of absorbent carbon and osmotic purgatives. At development of a heavy renal failure the hemodialysis is shown.

Storage conditions:

Period of validity. 4 years. Not to use drug after the termination of the period of validity specified on packaging. To store in the place protected from light at a temperature not over 25 ˚С. To store in the place, unavailable to children.
