Altan

General characteristics. Structure:

Main physical and chemical properties: tablets of a round form, with a biconvex surface, coated brown color;
structure: 1 tablet contains 10 mg of an altan in terms of dry matter and on the maintenance of elagotanin of 60%;
excipients: lactoses monohydrate; starch corn, calcium stearate, film-forming covering of Opadry II Brown.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Complex drug from substances of the polyphenolic nature – derivative elagotanin (ellagic and gallic acids, the ethylgalatian, альнитанин, etc.) received from alder compound fruits by bonding – Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn. and alder Alnus incana sulfur (L.) Moench. families of birch – Betulaceae showing gastroprotektorny and antiulcerous effect. Existence in composition of drug of the hydrolyzed tannins (ellagic and gallic acid) provides to drug antimicrobic action concerning Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enteridis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Citrobacter diversus. Antiinflammatory activity of drug is implemented due to the maintenance of flavonoids which show antioxidant properties, warning a peroksidation of lipids and blocking formation of bioreactive forms of oxygen. Oppression of activity of enzymes in a cycle of arachidonic acid leads to reduction of synthesis of mediators of an inflammation. Reparative properties of drug provide flavonoids (meletin, Rutinum, catechin, лейкоантенциан, etc.) which stimulate protein synthesis, improve local blood supply. Drug does not influence secretion of a stomach. 

Pharmacokinetics. It was not studied.

Indications to use:

Gastritises – irrespective of the nature of disturbances of acid-forming function of glands of a stomach; not ulcer dyspepsia; chronic gastroduodenita. In complex treatment of a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum, colitis and coloenterites.

Route of administration and doses:

Altan's abletka adults accept inside in  15–20 minutes prior to food on 1 tablet 2–3 times a day. Duration of a course of treatment depends on disease severity and can make from 1st to 2 months.
To children and teenagers from 9 to 16 years appoint on 1 tablet 2 times a day. Duration of a course of treatment makes 1 month.

Features of use:

Altan treats almost non-toxic drugs, however his use during pregnancy and a lactation is possible when the foreseen advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the child.
Clinical data on use of drug for treatment of children up to 9 years are absent.

Side effects:

It is not revealed.

Interaction with other medicines:

At a drug combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs antiinflammatory action amplifies. The polyphenolic basis of tablets of Altan promotes formation of complexes with salts of heavy metals and loss of pharmacological activity. Therefore it is impossible to appoint them in combination with Almagelum, drugs of bismuth, iron and other medicines which contain ions of metals.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to components of drug or individual sensitivity to taninsoderzhashchy medicines.

Overdose:

At prolonged use manifestations of hypersensitivity to drug in the form of allergic reactions which demand drug withdrawals and performing symptomatic therapy are possible.

Storage conditions:

To store in dry, protected from light, the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature not above 25 °C. A period of validity – 3 years.
