General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredient: 120 mg of urea in 1 g of ointment.

Excipients: paraffin white soft; propylene glycol; alpha tocopherol; sorbitan sesquioleate; glycerin of 85%; Retinolum palmitate; isopropyl myristate; the castor oil polyethoxylated, hydrogenated; starch wheat; wax microcrystallic; lactic acid.

The ointment for external use rendering local irritative, soothing, antiseptic and keratolytic action.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Use of the high-concentrated urea drugs in treatment of dermatological diseases is based, first of all, on keratoplastichesky influence of urea. Besides, cutaneous applications of the concentrated drugs of urea increase the content of liquid in a corneous layer of epidermis of the person.

Urea is the natural moistening means which improves binding of water in upper layers of skin and reduces its loss by epidermis. Efficiency of similar means in treatment of an ichthyosis, psoriasis and a positive impact on patients with dry and sensitive skin is proved. Urea has low molecular weight thanks to what it is quickly soaked up. Along with hydration properties urea renders keratolytic effect therefore there is a bystry mitigation of skin and flaking of firm scales.

The excipients which are a part of ointment hold active ingredient (urea) in a site of application, thereby interfering with its vsmaktyvaniye in a system blood stream. Release of the absorbed urea is carried out through urine and in insignificant quantities - through sweat.

Indications to use:

It is applied to treatment of neurodermatitis (including at elderly people) and also as supportive application at treatment of an ichthyosis.

Route of administration and doses:

Ointment should be applied 1-2 times a day, before weakening of symptoms, on carefully cleared dry skin, intensively rubbing. The occlusive bandage is used on doctor's orders. Clinical information concerning ointment use Ureotop is absent more than 3 weeks.

Features of use:

To avoid hit of ointment on mucous membranes, not to put around eyes as it can lead to their irritation. Not to apply to treatment of an acute inflammation of the injured skin.
