General characteristics. Structure:
Active agent: tetracycline a hydrochloride of-3 g Auxiliary substances - sodium pyrosulphite, lanolin anhydrous, paraffin oil firm, ceresin, vaseline medical.
Pharmacological properties:
Bacteriostatic antibiotic of a wide range from group of tetracyclines. Breaks formation of a complex between acceptor RNA and a ribosome that leads to disturbance of synthesis of protein. It is active concerning gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., including producing a penicillinase; Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae); Haemophilus influenzae, Listeria spp., Bacillus anthracis) and gram-negative microorganisms (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Bordetella pertussis, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp.), and also Ricketsia spp., Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasma spp., Treponema spp. Are steady: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Serratia spp., majority of strains of Bacteroides spp. and mushrooms, small viruses, beta and hemolitic streptococci of group A (including 44% of strains of Streptococcus pyogenes and 74% of strains of Streptococcus faecalis).
Pharmacokinetics. When drawing on healthy skin it is practically not soaked up.
Indications to use:
- purulent infections of soft tissues;
- furunculosis;
- the eczemas infected;
- rash, acne rash;
- folliculitis.
Route of administration and doses:
Outwardly, ointment is applied on affected areas of skin by 1-2 times a day (possibly imposing of a gauze bandage).
Features of use:
It is not recommended to apply at deep or chipped wounds, heavy burns, in
ophthalmology (use 1% an oculentum).
It must be kept in mind that use of antibacterial agents for outside

hypersensitivity reactions.

Adequate and strictly controlled researches at children up to 11 years are not conducted; doses
for this category of patients are not defined.
Side effects:
Allergic reactions: burning, dermahemia, puffiness or other signs of irritation.
Interaction with other medicines:
The drugs containing ions of metals (the antacids, drugs containing iron, magnesium, calcium) form inactive chelates in this connection it is necessary to avoid their co-administration with tetracycline.
It is necessary to avoid a combination with the penicillin, cephalosporins having bactericidal effect and being antagonists of bacteriostatic antibiotics (including tetracycline).
At simultaneous use of tetracycline with Retinolum development of intracranial hypertensia is possible.
At simultaneous use with Colestyraminum or kolestipoly tetracycline absorption disturbance is noted.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, children's age up to 11 years.
Use at pregnancy is not specified.
