General characteristics. Structure:
Active ingredients: cepalin, cordianine.
Excipients: water, xanthan, to methylparabens, sorbic acid, fragrance, PEG-4. The additional components which are a part of gel are necessary for maintenance of a certain consistence and neutralization of "an onions the smell" proceeding from a tsepalin.
Pharmacological properties:
Pharmacodynamics. The adjusting Mederm's gel is created for successful fight against scars, hems, traces from acne rash and other injuries of skin. Drug is capable to return to cells pigmentation that helps not just to disguise defective sites of skin, and to recover their structure and to considerably improve outward.
Mederma humidifies the damaged sites and is capable to prevent emergence of fresh hems on condition of timely use right after a wound repair.
Indications to use:
Mederma is recommended for improvement of a condition of skin at fresh and not old hems. It, most likely, will not be suitable for removal of old damages. However some doctors appoint Mederma as a part of complex therapy that allows to accelerate process of treatment and in the started cases.
Mederma is applied to improvement of a state and removal:
- scars after operations, for example, Cesarean section;
- traces from operations on removal of tattoos and other laser manipulations;
- extensions on skin which were formed during pregnancy, feeding by a breast;
- the extensions formed as a result of a sharp set of weight, bystry weight loss, hormonal disturbances;
- the small, but deep scars got as a result of insignificant injuries of skin (cuts, grazes, scratches);
- effects from burns of both a thermal, and chemical origin;
- effects of aggressive cosmetic operations – chemical, laser and mechanical peelings;
- traces from remote birthmarks, warts, fatty tumors.
Cicatricial fabric replaces with itself healthy cells of skin in places of damages: cuts, wounds, grazes. Because of a special arrangement of fibers, such sites differ not only on color (hems white and do not darken under the influence of the sun), but also on ability to stretch. In zones where on a body hems are located, the feeling of strapped skin, discomfort, an itch can appear.
Mederma returns to cells former sensitivity to ultraviolet, as a result scars, extensions and other injuries of skin gain ability to darken in the sun. Besides, gel recovers elasticity of skin that takes off unpleasant effects.
Before beginning drug use, the personal consultation of the doctor is necessary. This obligatory conditions for safe use of gel.
Route of administration and doses:
There is a number of rules which need to be carried out when putting gel on skin:
- the surface of skin has to be pure and dry;
- gel is applied on necessary zones about 3-4 times a day;
- drug is applied on skin by means of roundabouts and easy pressing.
Gel is rubbed by roundabouts in the direction from the center of a hem to the periphery throughout three – five minutes. Process of drawing represents a certain similarity of massage that is an additional incentive for inflow of blood to the site and acceleration of its regeneration.
It is necessary to wait for effect of Mederma's use several months. Completely to get rid of traces on skin, rather long period is necessary. Depending on an origin of a scar, a hem, it is necessary to use drug during the period from two to six months and even more.
Duration of a course of use of gel of Mederm depending on object of treatment:
- improvement of a condition of skin at extensions – from 3 to 6 months;
- small injuries of skin – about 3 months;
- big scars and hems (including postoperative) – of 6 months and more.
Mederma is used only outwardly. In case of hit of drug on mucous membranes of an oral cavity, an eye, it is necessary to wash out them clear flowing water. Besides, it is not recommended to apply gel on not prolonged wounds and grazes as it can interfere with their bystry healing.

Side effects:
Clinical tests showed interesting results concerning side reactions – they were practically not observed. In exceptional cases at individual reactions developing of an itch, a peeling, dryness is possible. The most serious side effects: burning sensation and temperature increase on the site of drawing Mederma.
In case of any unpleasant feelings, it is necessary to refuse use of drug and to consult with the doctor.
Interaction with other medicines:
Mederma can be applied in combination with other drugs.
Contraindications:
Important plus of gel of Mederm is the minimum quantity of contraindications. It is necessary to refuse drug use to the people inclined to allergic reactions to gel components. It is contraindicated to give Mederma on the inflamed sites, open wounds.
It is not forbidden to use gel at pregnancy and a lactation, but it is necessary to do it with care. Consult with the doctor.
Storage conditions:
Gel is stored in the darkened place unavailable to children at temperature up to 25 °C. A period of validity – 24 months.
