Syrup with a plantain

General characteristics. Structure:

The syrup of brown color, opaque, viscous, with a specific smell.

Active agent: extract of a plantain of lanceolate 5 g
Excipients: peppermint oil, sugar, syrup of beet sugar, potassium sorbate, water.

Pharmacological properties:

Has expectorant, antiinflammatory and mucolytic effect.

Indications to use:

The inflammatory respiratory diseases which are followed by cough with the hardly separated phlegm (as a part of complex therapy).

Route of administration and doses:

Inside, washing down with a small amount of water.

To children from 1 year to 6 years to accept 1/2 teaspoons (2.5 ml) each 3-4 h, but no more than 4 times /

To children 6 years and to teenagers - on 1 teaspoon (5 ml) each 2-3 h, but not more than 4 times / are more senior

The adult - on 1 tablespoon each 2-3 h.

Features of use:

Syrup contains sucrose that need to consider the patients suffering from a diabetes mellitus and also at a hypocaloric diet.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction with other medicines:

The concomitant use with antibechic drugs since it complicates expectoration of the liquefied phlegm, and also with the medicines reducing formation of a phlegm is not recommended.

Contraindications:

— the increased individual sensitivity to drug components;

— children's age (till 1 year).

Use at pregnancy and feeding by a breast
Drug can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding in coordination with the attending physician.

Use for children
Contraindicated to children aged till 1 year. Further use according to indications in the corresponding dose.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C in packaging with densely closed cover. In the place, unavailable to children.

Period of validity - 3 years. Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging.
