General characteristics. Structure:

Active ingredients: 3 g of liquid extract of a plantain, 15 g of liquid extract of a thyme in 100 g of syrup.

Excipients: methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, propyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, solution of invert sugar (glucose, fructose, sucrose), the purified water.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Drug has expectorant, antiinflammatory effect.

Indications to use:

As a part of complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tracts which are followed by cough with the hardly separated phlegm (tracheitis, bronchitis, a tracheobronchitis), and also spastic cough.

Route of administration and doses:

In the absence of other appointments the following dosage is recommended:
- to children aged from 6 months till 1 year - on 1 teaspoon once a day.
- to children of younger age - on 1 teaspoon 2 times a day.
- to children of school age - on 1 tablespoon 2 times a day.
- the adult - on 1-2 tablespoons of 3-5 times a day.

Syrup should be accepted in an undiluted look after food. Duration administration of drug is defined by the attending physician depending on disease severity. At easy forms of an inflammation of respiratory tracts it makes 2 weeks; 2-3 more days after disappearance of symptoms of a disease are recommended to accept drug.

If in 2-3 weeks improvement of a condition of the patient does not occur, it is necessary to consult with the attending physician.

Features of use:

Drug contains 6,5% (объемн.) ethanol.

The general content of sugar, in terms of sucrose, makes 0,6 g/ml. 1 teaspoon (5 ml) corresponds to 3,0 g of sucrose, or 0,25 BE. 1 tablespoon (10 ml) corresponds to 6,0 g of sucrose, or 0,5 BE.

Co-administration of antibechic medicines is not recommended. At emergence of opacification of syrup or loss of a deposit drug should not be used.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible (including because of the content in drug of alkyls-4-hydroxybenzoates).

At emergence of side effects use of drug it is necessary to stop and consult with the attending physician.

Interaction with other medicines:

Owing to the ethanol content drug promotes strengthening of action of the sedative, somnolent and other means oppressing the central nervous system.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Drug should be used with care a sick diabetes mellitus and to the persons which are on a diet with the lowered content of carbohydrates. Children should appoint drug with care (because of a possible negative impact of ethanol).

Owing to availability of ethanol it is not recommended to appoint drug at pregnancy, during breastfeeding, at liver diseases, alcoholism, epilepsy, a brain injury.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature not above 25 °C in the place, unavailable to children. A period of validity - 3 years. Not to apply after the period of validity specified on packaging.
