General characteristics. Structure:

Active agent: okseladina citrate of 10 mg / 5 ml

Other ingredients: sucrose, methylparaben, propylparaben, dye, erythrosine, cocoa fragrance, water.

Pharmacological properties:

Active component of the drug Paxeladinum is the substance received in the synthetic way — citrate of an okseladin; this molecule has antibechic effect, has no chemical affinity to the substances containing opium and their derivatives, to antihistaminic substances. Paxeladinum carries out the selective effect at the level of tussive nerve centers. In the dose necessary for implementation of antibechic action, he does not suppress a respiratory center, and shows a subtle effect of normalization of breath. Paxeladinum does not drowse.
Cmax in blood is defined by 1 h after reception and remains during 4 h.

Indications to use:

Symptomatic treatment of the complicated unproductive cough.

Route of administration and doses:

Drug is appointed to adults and children 30 months and with a body weight not less than 15 kg are aged more senior. Treatment short-term (2–3 days) right after developing of cough.
Packaging contains a measured spoon of 2,5 and 5 ml that corresponds to 5 and 10 mg of an okseladin of citrate.
To children with the body weight of 15-20 kg (age from 2,5 to 6 years) if necessary appoint one spoon (2,5 ml) of syrup in each 4 h. The maximum dose — 3–4 measured spoons a day, depending on the body weight of the child.
To children with the body weight of 20-30 kg (age of 6-10 years) if necessary appoint one spoon (5 ml) of syrup in each 4 h. The maximum dose — 2–3 measured spoons a day, depending on the body weight of the child.
To children with the body weight of 30-50 kg (age of 10-15 years) if necessary appoint one spoon (5 ml) of syrup in each 4 h. The maximum dose — 3–5 measured spoons a day, depending on the body weight of the child.
The adult if necessary appoint one spoon (5 ml) of syrup in each 4 h. The maximum dose — 5 measured spoons a day.

Features of use:

It is not necessary to use drug for treatment of productive cough, it can complicate otkhozhdeny phlegms.
It is not necessary to apply Paxeladinum along with mucolytic and expectorants.
Before use of drug it is necessary to define a cough etiology.

Children. Children can use drug of 30 months and with body weight not less than 15 kg.
